There has been an announcement from the Mosque in Lapta but it was difficult to hear due to the winds, does anyone know what was said.

I wish for once people would stop trying to be so smart and just answer the question asked, obviously this was meant for people in Lapta !

Most likely .... prayers at the mosque on Friday are cancelled or eulogy for a death in the village or obey the curfew...

And obviously if nobody answered this question would move to the bottom of the list where it would not be opened or read by anybody. As well as attempting to inject some humour into a very disturbed and sad world at this time, it is worth thinking about what else you could do to assist other things!

Good morning Elizabeth and I wish you a very pleasant day.

Catalkoy and Ozankoy are just asking people to stay at home and only go out when necessary, mentioned the night shut down etc etc.
Probably also mentioned the Friday prayers too

The announcement was made in English but I could not hear all the words. I heard "outside" "4" "5"but not in that order. I am sure someone on here will tell us soon.

In view of the act that the police pounced on a mosque that was holding worship, the announcement is probably to tell everyone that no further worship can take place until the end of the isolation time. This is just an assumption, but.............maybe someone else can confirm.

Marions - doubt if that would have been announced in English.

We are getting announcements from mosque in English (in Gecitkale of all places), asking all to stay home and not go out. Basically stay safe.
I thought I was the only english speaking person in the village, hope they are not targeting me, only been out once to the local Bakkal in the past 2 weeks.

I met a London Cypriot lady who runs a cafe in Gecitkale...she was called to help translate when I wanted to buy an oven. I don't think they are doing English announcements in Tatlisu, certainly not heard any.

We have had them in Dipkarpaz in English for some days, saying that we must all follow the rules, look out for each other and for all of us to pray to 'the lord' to help us through these dark and difficult times. Not the exact words, but something like it. Then a longer version in Turkish.
