April 3, 2020 - 17:36

Making statements regarding the quarantine demand for Lapta, Alsancak and Karşıyaka regions, the Ministry of Health officials stated that there are suspicious persons who are currently in contact with positive cases in the region and whose test results are expected.

Explaining that the test results of the close contact group are expected, the officials stressed that this group will determine the course of the process. Emphasizing that the problem is solved when close contacts are detected, the authorities underlined that the decision will be made according to the situation of the events that will come out tonight.

Stating that the quarantine situation in Karpaz made it difficult to follow their contacts, the officials stated that the Lapta, Alsancak and Karşıyaka regions could be quarantined according to the test results, and that the quarantine will sometimes act according to the developments and that the quarantine is sometimes not a solution.

Some people just don't get it do they.
Until the grim reaper comes knocking on the door they will still be flouting the law social or otherwise.
Of course it wouldn't be their fault would it.

Because very few people here dont give a crap about rules or regulations.

This morning went to our local supermarket, one guy parked in a disable bay, looked like Usain bolt, another guy left the shop discarded his gloves on the floor, on the way out two people drove into the car park through the no entry sign, you couldn't make it up!

Great news, the two flights from London into ercan are full.
Another boatload of virus carriers running home to infect, firstly the family then the rest of the general public.
Don't even try to say that they will self quarantine for two weeks as we all know that they will be visiting during that period.
That's how it is in alsancak/Lapta/karsiyaka.

I suspect having seen the stupidity of people yesterday crowding around a car in a used car lot, lorry drivers mixing with each other in a tyre depot and absolutely no distancing in Ya Belis, that it will make no difference at all. And as to another flight landings at Ercan…..well it beggars believe. The car park at Illeli+ has become a fairground bumper car ride and won't go near it any longer.

I sit here and smile knowing we let only 1 person or if husband and wife 2 people in together or sometimes 3 and seeing the supermarkets nearby full of people brushing past each other and using it as a social morning allegedly.
We try to do it correctly because we can and care regardless of some negativity.
As daft as it sounds wouldn't it be better for all shops to be open and maybe then less crowding in fewer shops that are open, you choose which you want to go into.
IMO the supermarkets currently are a real risk but of course, that's just my opinion.

The sooner this happens the safer I'll feel, today we've seen family visiting the local police officer next door to us, just one incident of visitors to that house.
On the patio of an old empty house next door to us there are two blokes enjoying a bbq, this happened last week too and they sat there all day drinking before driving off.
The police have been informed but nothing has been done, these people should be locked up until they understand Stay at Home.

No. It’s not just you.

Supermarkets are 'high-risk sites of infection'

Wines of the World, I might have disagreed with you on some of the subjects discussed here but you are so right in this case. Some of the Supermarkets are just fine:- Yesterday about 10.15:- Alsancak Lemar - 6 cars in car park, Alsancak Starlings, opposite the fish shop, 10 cars. Old Ilelli - car park packed and shop small, Alsancak Fish shop - 1 car, Illeli+, carpark packed, people ignoring In and Out signs. Can't understand why people favour it over others. Even the Vet was only allowing one person at a time inside. One visit a week should be enough for anyone to food shop, but sadly it seems to be being used as a means of a trip out. Stay at Home.

We're human Sophie and cannot agree on everything and if I responded to everything on here I disagree on I'd have to ask soner for a salary 😜
So here is the regional lockdowns as the post predicted!
Just listening to callers into sky news live and social distancing seems to be the favourite choice. Lockdown seems very unpopular but hey what do I know!
My opinion stands, supermarkets are a dangerous place as they appear to be no real control other than a foreign worker checking your temp and mumbling and pointing to a table with a box of plastic gloves and a spray of alcohol for you to help yourself 🤔
I don't go to any markets morning time before 12 to make purchases as these seem to be the stupid amount of customers time and alleged social gatherings .
I have a favourite time which up to now seems to always be a quiet period in the market's which suits me, get in and out in under 5 minutes.
It's a good thing maybe regional lockdowns as now certain markets will not be as crowded I hope and safer for all.
"We" much to the annoyance of a few will still carry on to only allow up to 3 at a time into our supermarket that chooses to only sell alcohol 🥂😷😷😷😷😷🤠😜 if we ever feel like profiteering we might decide to fill our supermarket full of other essentials but of course we shall give every1 a months notice to get used to the idea👍👍🤠🤠
Stay safe and always wear protection and use your food stamps wisely!😏
