Peter Sellers & Spike Milligan in Kyrenia 1973
I was watching a Peter Sellers documentary recently and they mentioned a film called Ghost in the Noonday Sun made in 1973. Some scenes were shot in and around Kyrenia Harbour and other spots in the North. It was such a bad film it was never released. I manged to watch it today on here....

You have to be a little computer literate to navigate around the pop-ups (just close them and return to the film webpage - and do not download anything) and it is a truly terrible film with only a few minutes in Kyrenia.
Here's the film trailer which has a harbour scene...

I also found a B&H advert shot by Sellers and Milligan in the harbour at the same time - in the former customs house...

The film was a turkey, so much so that Sellers faked a heart attack to try to get out of it. When Spike arrived to film his part he rewrote and reshot some of it but it was a lost cause.
The director has filmed a documentary of the experience and this is about to be released next week. I haven't found any online streams but here's the trailer....

There are a few conspiracy theories that the film was a cover for Turkish agents to assess the best place to land their ships!
I think the documentary will be better than the film.

Re: Peter Sellers & Spike Milligan in Kyrenia 1973
I was actually living here at the time and met both Peter and Spike. The film as you so rightly said never got released. I can assure you that the film crew especially the set designers had real problems with the Greek Cypriots and they took the crew for a ride especially monetary wise! Peter Sellers walked off the set and left for a week or so, so everything came to a grounding halt. The man was a nightmare during the production of that film. Spike was one of the funniest people I have met and he loved coming out with the young crowd that I went around with and kept us in stitches all night.
I was privileged to be a part of some wonderful people, actors and crew. Also every Saturday night they all met up at the Harbour Club and the night was rocking, someone on the base, keyboards etc. What fun it was then, Kyrenia when they left felt so empty - but I have great memories of such lovely times during those months of them filming!

It's a turkey alright ... maybe that leaves a nasty taste in the mouth... interesting back story from Kate.
Spike kept cast and audiences in stitches at Q8 recordings at The Paris Studio Lower Regents Street.... So much so that half-hour recordings would last two hours. A true master of comedy.

Everything you read about Sellers makes him appear a nightmare of a man. Probably proves the saying there is a thin line between genius and madness but I forgive him a lot for Inspector Clouseu and anyone who arranges to have their funeral begin with Glenn Miller’s In The Mood blaring out in church can’t be all badkatecornwell wrote: ↑Thu 14 May 2020 6:27 amPeter Sellers walked off the set and left for a week or so, so everything came to a grounding halt. And Peter Sellers had a house at Dogankoy for a while from 1963 I think it was. I also believe he was a man with a lot of 'demons' although a mate of mine in th emusic profesison got along with him well.
