Bellapais is the most beautiful place, but at the moment it is dying. The restaurants are open but no customers, no tourists which is what it relies on. Please support Bellapais. We have been today had a truly lovely meal at Abbey Bell Tower... just so sad to see restaurants waiting to welcome but no one coming. Please support these businesses or they will be lost.

Before folks will start using restaurants and bars again they need to be confident about their safety.

We went to an Indian restaurant last week when the lockdown ended. It has a big seating area but the diners already there were crammed into one area, to make life easier for the waiters I suppose. Forget distancing. After all this time and all the warnings they couldn't even get that right. We decided to leave.

We will be eating and drinking at home for a long time yet until this virus has well and truly gone away.

Moonraker, totally agree with you. A restaurant we frequent regularly and which I praised on this Forum right from the start has totally disappointed me now. However, I mostly blame the customers i.e. 6 people immediately sitting at a table set up for four and asking for another small table at the end OR birthday party of locals having tables dragged together for 13 people. I'm sure the restaurant knows it shouldn't happen but are desperate to keep open and won't or don't say "NO sorry."

Mrs Gee, as soon as we're convinced all is safe, we're popping out more and more lately, and will get to Bellapais before long. Will try and get there before the hordes get there, and they will sooner or later and then we'll probably moan because of lack of parking space!!!

Now is probably the best time to go out and about, before all the borders open. My Two Cents

Sad to say not been back to Abbey Bell Tower since they let smokers smoke inside. We complained at the time but got the shrug, we used to eat there frequently. Was surprised at Cengis's attitude. The tourists were more important than the regulars it seemed. :-(

Panchocat, that's a real shame but I suspect this will have changed now. Lets face it, they want our custom at the moment, so if we ask they dress up as Laurel and Hardy, they would do it (only joking, but you see where I'm coming from). Anything rather than an empty restaurant.
