Re: Advice re fitting of logburner
As you are looking for a "Fitter" I assume you have probably already purchased a log burner? If you have not then can I recommend StoneArt in Ozankoy. They have by far the best range of burners and the staff are most helpful. If you are buying and are new to log burners you need help to figure out just how big/small your requirements are and they will come and visit and let you know which would be best for your property. They also fit chimneys - proper chimneys not just steel pipe dripping things! They are not the cheapest around but IMHO are the best in the North.
I do not think they will fit a chimney to a product you already have but it may be worth asking them, they also have a chimney cleaning service for the chimneys they have fitted only!
Last bit but most important - When you fit your log burner make sure you have purchased a good quality Carbon Monoxide Alarm, leaks happen and you don't want to wake up in another place because of one!! Good luck.

Re: Advice re fitting of logburner
Thank you Waddo, sound advice. We have seen a small cast iron burner in Somine shop in Girne (we have c.heating so only need small burner) but their guy seems very slow to come out to see the chimney and what's needed so we may now go see the one in Ozankoy. Do you know if IMHO also alter existing fireplace surrounds, ie make wider, bigger etc.? Or do they just fit burners and flues?

sammydavis, they will do anything for you, from just a burner on it's own to full fireplace fittings/renewals/closed in systems etc, etc. Most professional work I have had done out here. I just bought my own burner from them and fitted it myself - small mistake there, should have had them do the lot - now I will have them back to replace my own chimney as it is not working as it should. Go and see them, advice is free!

Re: Advice re fitting of logburner
The stone art shop was empty the other day when we drove past.
We used Akinlar for our woodburner. He is in Girne on the main road.

Will have a look at StoneArt again tomorrow but they might have moved out and back into their main branch in Nicosia, lots of places closing down or at best down sizing it seems. I have use Akinlar as well a long time ago.
