Called at Mr Pipe on Saturday to ask him what date did he fit air con in our new shop in Catalkoy, they said I booked it on the 26th may and fitted on 28th may I believe.

I needed to know as I've just had my first electric bill in the shop and the only thing running electrical has been the 24000 BTU Aircon unit since the day it was fitted, running 24 hours a day 7 days a week on 22c and low fan speed non-stop.

So I saw I had a text message to my phone from kibtek on Friday and was surprised to see it was for the new catalkoy shop.

209.55 TL. ($$) Fantastic

I am extremely happy with my choice of company and Aircon Brand, Bosch . :+1:) :+1:)

That's approx 3.5 pence per day. That's really good. I wonder if it works cheaper keeping it running than switching on and off throughout the day.

Interesting! I guess that is for a 30 day period, but as your new shop not open yet - Catalkoy always been slow with licenses - I must assume that there has been very little coming and going so the doors will have been shut for long periods? Will be interesting to see how much higher the bill goes once normal service resumes! That is before I race off and line Mr Pipes pockets again for a new aircon - lol. Made a mistake with current ones and bought too small for one room so need to go to 18000 there and move the 9000 to another place, always upgrades to everything!
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

Correct waddo. Door has been opened but not left open.
I will let you know this following month and see if much of a change.
I'm told not turning on and off also helps with power consumption.

If this is the kind of bill running 24/7 then it will stay turned on this way.

Someone did tell me it works out more economical if not turned on and off throughout the day. Turn on and leave it until you go to sleep. But 30 days 24/7 is like 2 months in a normal household.

Before buying a new 18000BTU inverter last month I read the info below.
Consequently mine is now set to dry mode at 26C and the sleep mode when we get into bed.

"Originally Answered: Is an air conditioner with an inverter more cost effective than a split air conditioner if used for a shorter duration?
Inverter AC is cost effective only if you use it wisely.

First of all let me say what is the main difference of Inverter ac compressor and a normal ac compressor.

In a normal ac of 1 ton cooling capacity say it takes 1300 watts power input. When the desired temperature set by the user is achieved the compressor is cut off and it draws 0 power meanwhile the fan or the blower still works until there is about 2 degree increase in the room temperature. When the thermostat senses this change, the compressor is started and draws the same input power of 1300 watts.

So whenever the compressor is ON, it draws the rated input of 1300 watts.

INVERTER TECHNOLOGY

In an inverter ac, the frequency of the ac current is varied using an inverter and hence the speed of the compressor is controlled. If the compressor is running at full speed, the coolant is circulated inside the coils at a faster rate and say it draws the same amount of power as a normal 1 ton ac ie: 1300 W.

When the desired temperature level is achieved, inverter ac doesnt turn off the compressor. It reduces the frequency of the input to the compressor and reduces the speed of the compressor to maintain the desired coolant flow rate to maintain the set room temperature. Normally at this time the compressor takes only 50% input power ie: 650W.

As long as the room temperature doesnt fluctuate or any external heat source is not there in the room that increases the room temperature drastically. The ac takes 650W input power.

Meanwhile the normal ac will be running at 1300 W for the same desired temperature.

To save money.

Remember. never set thermostat below 24 degrees. If you set it below 24 and if the ac cannot achieve that temperature ie. 16 degrees . The inverter ac will work continuously at 100% capacity. There will no cost savings.
Use dry mode in ac and set it at 28 degrees. Believe me. If the relative humidity inside the room is higher than normal then removing the excess humidity by using dry mode alone will cool down the room faster than any other modes.
A combination of dry mode and temperature setting above 27 degrees will save a huge amount of electricity."

Interesting
Tomorrow I need to go to catalkoy so while I'm there I'm going to check which mode I'm in but I'm going to only adjust it to 24.
After reading your explanation I'm sure that 2 degrees will make a difference in power usage
