Re: Revolut
Delete the email, log in to the app and if you do need to update your details, it will inform you on the app.

Re: Revolut
Someone I know had her account cleared of £850 pounds via a text message (I think). Be very careful.

Re: Revolut
Revolut will always contact you via their app so you can always assume an email is fake

Re: Revolut
We thought the same.. contacted them via app and they confirmed email was genuine. Did the ID update via the app, involves photo of passport plus face, it then does a match to verify that you are a real person and who you purport to be... I told them the email looks suspicious which they agreed but apparently necessary to generate the the response.
Two/three step verification involves email, app and phone.

Re: Revolut
Btw, did anybody read the news reports about revolut last month?

I’m by no means an expert in banking but I am lead to believe that you do not have the same type of protection with revolut as you do with a typical UK bank. Therefore, my friends have advised me not to have too much cash in my revolut account, just in case.

I am by no means "for or against" but here is an alternative view.

Re: Revolut
I believe the money in Revolut is ring fenced with Barclays, do you are protected so long as Barclays exist Kanonier’s link above backs that up.

Re: Revolut
Think it is to do with Revolut not being a proper bank so therefore not having FSCS protection which protects savings up to £85k.
Should be ok for travel money etc but not for savings. If they did go bust, would you get less back as creditors and the liquidators would need to be paid back initially.

Re: Revolut
I wonder which scurrilous vested interest determined to see the demise of a fierce competitor seeded this nugget of disinformation couched as a question? It's so obviously a leading question pretending to be concerned but the intent is clear.... let's cause some negative social media traffic and mop-up the switherers.Trigger wrote: ↑Fri 24 Jul 2020 6:54 amBtw, did anybody read the news reports about revolut last month?

Re: Revolut
I downloaded Revolut this morning and had the same verification e-mails.Groucho wrote: ↑Fri 24 Jul 2020 4:32 amWe thought the same.. contacted them via app and they confirmed email was genuine. On a side note if anyone can shed any light, problem i have is that i tried ordering a Standard Card via the app, put pin in, confirmed delivery address, got a screen with 3 delivery options;
Thurs 6th Aug £11.99 crossed out FREE
Thurs 6th August £11.99
13th August £4.99
View upgrade option at the bottom of screen which went onto a blank page which never downloaded.
The Rita chatbot said i can get free delivery if i put a tenner into the account which i already did, i replied saying that was no help and i got a reply saying she was glad to be of help so i'm not impressed so far.

Re: Revolut

If you want to chat with a real person instead of a 'Bot' just type Live Chat in the message box - it may take a while to get a response if they're busy, but once they respond, they're like Jack Russells hanging on to a bit of rope - they never give up!

- The Revolut 'Chat' function does have a few peculiarities!
