Gov.uk petition for direct flights to TRNC
For anybody that hasn’t seen it, there is a gov.uk petition for direct flights to TRNC.

Sorry guys you're wasting your time.
The Chicago Convention only allows the recognised government of a country to designate an international airport.

Yepee !!! Someone that underrstands the situation. I was an IATA member and agent for almost 30 years.
until the country is recoginsed you cannot file a direct flight plan here.

As a matter of interest, how many other countries are NOT recognised according to the Chicago Convention, and as such, only receive flights from specific countries - which in turn are - who?
i.e. Northern Cyprus from Turkey....
Who else? e.g. SOUTH Sudan (don't know whether it's been recognised yet) - are they OK?
Perhaps an online petition to the European parliament (while we're still in the EEC), so that the EU parliament can take it up with the UN.....(Chicago Convention/International Civil Aviation Organization became a specialized agency of the United Nations)...
...But then, there are no online petitions for the EU parliament, are there...?
...And as the South (being EU members) have a veto, they would kill it anyway,,,,
