Revolut top up
I have tried to add money to my Revolut today and keep getting the message "oops something has gone wrong". I have received a notification that they are updating their system and there may be a problem adding money between 29th & 31st but today is 28th. Has anyone else got a problem adding money from within the App?

Re: Revolut top up
I have my Revolut set to ‘auto top up’ when the balance drops below a certain amount that I set in the app. Today (Friday) it topped up as normal. So that side of it seems to be working OK.

Re: Revolut top up
I haven't set up "auto top up". I usually use the "Add Money" tab and it draws the money over from my linked debit card from Nationwide. I have also just tried to add my Lloyds debit card and I got a message saying that my card was not authorised!
I have tried calling Revolut but I cannot get through.
Mr Chinnery would you mind trying the Add Money method and see if it works for you to add £1.

I topped up this morning through the app direct to my Halifax bank account. (Cannot top up with card as expired and current card in UK)

Just added some money via ‘add money’ Worked OK.
You will probably be better using online chat within the app, but it may take sometime for them to reply.

Alphamike. How long did it take to reach your Revolut account? I transferred £100 from my Lloyds account about 20 minutes ago and it is not showing as received in my Revolut Account yet. Usually Lloyds paynents are instant.

Judyvin, if you do decide to use the online chat to sort this out, type Live Chat in the message box - there may be a delay when they're busy!

Thank you. My transfer from Lloyds worked eventually. There must be a problem with my Nationwide card though because I still can't "add" money.

I've got a notice on the app saying "Card top-ups may not work due to scheduled maintenance" - don't you have the same message?

Glad that your money came through Judyvin, albeit later than expected.
I've got that same message KC.
I am glad though that you can top up from within the app from your UK bank account....I had to add the Halifax app to the phone. Although I do have details of my new card, it wouldn't accept it without me taking a photo of card and submitting it, which I can't do, as I don't have my paws on it.

Yes Keith you are correct. I had that message and it advised topping up before 29th. I tried to top up on 28th. I see now that my card has been removed! My card is also in the UK and I had to add it previously with my sisters help. I don't recall being asked to add a photo of it.

Re: Revolut top up
My Mum had sent me the details of my card, and I entered them, but it was declined as I needed to do a photo from within the app - that's my memory of it anyway. It might be a new security thing? I haven't bothered to try again until I get the card, and it's easy just to do it transferring from bank within app, as long as I have access to my money, that's good by me.

As I recall (cop out
), you will need to upioad a selfie and a snap of some ID - PP or DL at some point as 'proof' of who you are just for security purposes.
I can't remember whether you have to do it as 2 photo's or just one.
You might as well do it when prompted, to get it out of the way, and have your account 'fully verified' - you do not need to have the physical card in your possession in order to complete this step.

Oh maybe that was it KC, rather than a photo of the physical card. You've got me wondering now. I can't remember if I ever submitted photo ID/selfie, was ages ago, can hardly remember what happened yesterday! I will have a look at it at some point when my brain is functioning, so could be some time!

My issue is with Nationwide when it comes to transferring money. I need to use the card in the card reader each time. Lloyds not a problem but I have money paid into Nationwide!

Judyvin
It might be an idea to contact Nationwide Fraud Dept and let them know what’s happening. They can see what transactions you have attempted and may have put a block on your card because of suspicious transactions.
They will then release the block on the card.

Re: Revolut top up
It is one photo Keith and it is a right pain to do. My phone has facial recognition so it would focus on the face but the id proof wasn't clear enough for them to see. Took a number of attempts to get it right.Keithcaley wrote: ↑Sun 30 Aug 2020 7:52 amAs I recall (cop out), you will need to upioad a selfie and a snap of some ID - PP or DL at some point as 'proof' of who you are just for security purposes.

Re: Revolut top up
All sorted! With the help of my sister in the UK, using my card in a card reader, I have successfully set up a standing order and have added my card to the app. Money transferred by standing order received and £300 using tge add money feature from within the app - phew!

Judyvin, glad that you got it sorted - it can seem a bit long winded to set up, like most online financial arrangements, but it's well worth the effort!
