https://www.lgcnews.com/spike-in-covid- ... ses-found/

This brings the total number of cases of Covid-19 up to 394.

Why are so many people failing the tests on arrival

What countries are generating clear tests and then only to fail on arrival at Ercan?

There has been a local spike in the Vadili Akdagan area due to weddings

As the tests aren’t the cheapest I wouldn’t doubt there is a handy trade in moody certificates.
Also how generic are they?
For example would you be able to ascertain the validity of a Belgium certificate even if you had seen a British one? In my experience when knocking up a fake driving licence someone might use as ID they often use a Country that you might not commonly see

You will not test positive from the first minute you get infected. So it is possible to validly test negative and then still test positive 3 days later.

There is a worrying increase in spread here in the north imo and most worrying in 'internal' spread, mitigated somewhat in that it seems to me, for what ever reason, that the chances of imminently dying from it are steadily and significantly decreasing in a majority of countries around the world.

Erol The local spread in the TRNC has been attributed to social gatherings mentioning weddings in one Kibris article Vadili Akdagan area was mentioned
In the UK take Stoke two outbreaks three miles apart similar numbers of people involved in one the local mosque agreed to close for a fortnight and people were stopped from meeting in each others house .The other case was traced back to a bingo hall .In Smethwick Oldbury outbreaks have been tied to two factories and a coach moving workers to a company 40 minutes away .A wedding in the USA 130 plus infection

The only answer is distance stay away from groups wash hands

I do think we have 'advantages' here in terms of contact tracing.

I recall when first moving out here to live one of my (unmarried) Cypriot uncles telling me the story of how he one day went from Girne to Famagusta for a covert liason with a young lady that was not his wife and the gossip about his activities got back to Girne before he himself did ;)

In England many years ago, I had an uncle like that. Unfortunately, he was married to my auntie at the time.

Erol you are totally correct about the validity test - some people seem to believe that means they haven't got the virus but all it means is that at the time of the test they did not appear to have the virus. In addition to that, who have you been close to since you had the test, and could you have caught it from anyone in passing.

This is why the second test is required when you arrive and if you are then in quarantine, a third test at the end of the quarantine period.

Just remember, a negative test does not mean you are clear or immune to catching this virus.
Take care and stay safe!
