Amazon UK log on problem
I have been trying to log on to the Amazon UK site for 2 days without success,I could log on OK on Friday but since then no luck.
I have tried using different browsers, using a VPN set to the UK,clearing the cache etc etc.
I have no problems logging into other websites including E Bay,I can log onto Amazon.com (US) no problem.
Any one else having the same problem?

Re: Amazon UK log on problem
I can log onto Amazon OK on another machine on the same network-so the problem must lie with this laptop.
I tried disabling windows defender and firewall but that made no difference.

Be a bit careful here as it might be the first step to a scam. Eg you change your password via the laptop and......

would you have any idea what I am talking about if I said
open a command window (cmd)
type 'tracert amazon.co.uk' (without the quotes or this bit in brakets)
giver it time to finish, it will count up to max of 30 and then post the results of the trace route.

Re: Amazon UK log on problem
That all looks correct to me. The IP address 178.236.7.220 is owned by amazon and at the network level the machine has a valid route there and the times that route is taking are normal as well.
Weird and sorry that is probably about as far as I can take investigating 'remotely' like this. Might help to try the affected device on a different network, just to see if it is a combination of 'device and given network' or just the device regardless of network. If I think of anything else I'll post.
(ps this thread probably should have been posted in computers section

You could try clearing the cache on your browser, or indeed another browser on the same laptop.
I had to reset chrome recently to log into Facebook again. No idea why it stopped working, but was fine afterwards.

Thank you for trying Erol.
I seemed to have fixed it-I did a cold reboot of laptop (removed battery and power cable and held power button in for 60 secs)-then restarted and did a network reset, restarted and now fixed,no Idea what the problem was,but all ok now.

Re: Amazon UK log on problem
I tried to log into amazon yesterday with my vpn on and it wouldn’t work. Turned it off and it worked fine. Tried again just now and it worked fine with the vpn on.
