Have read today that from 16th to 20th Sept. only Turkish Cypriots and Turkish nationals are allowed into airport.
We are flying tomorrow, 17th with Pegasus. Has anyone got any information about this and will we be allowed to fly?

I have a friend who is flying on Friday and I have written confirmation that some of the information put out Monday and Tuesday was badly interpreted. Flights OUT are OK its flights IN that are stopped. If you pm me and are on Whatsapp, I can forward the information to you in Turkish.

With this analogy; I wonder what the World reaction would be if all ports of UK entry said only British passport holders could enter but all foreign passport holders are happy to leave?!
Farage would be very happy!

Please try to see the wider picture. I know it is inconvenient for some, but they are trying to get on top of this virus for everyone's benefit. They don't have the resources here to be able to let Covid-19 get completely out of control.

Could I just point out that a Citizen of ANY Country has a right to enter that Country, virtually regardless of status or circumstances?

A Government may impose a ban on Foreigners entering the Country, but would (generally) be unable to exclude its own Citizens. They might arrest them, impose movement restrictions - either for Criminal offences or Public Health reasons, but they cannot take away the right of Citizens to enter their own Country.

It's not Racism that allows TC's to enter TRNC while others are banned, it's the inalienable right of a TC, a GC, or anyone else, to enter their own Country.

On the assumption that holding a Country's' passport gives right of abode of said place however, only Britain can change the rules and make their own citizens stateless not recognising their own passport status. How does that work in a glorious, democratic, sympathetic State?!

Actually, I think that Individual Sovereign Countries are forbidden from making anyone 'Stateless', including their own Citizens.

I've just seen Soner's post, which confirms 'UK Citizen' status for a HK passport holder, but have no idea whether that could be revoked if doing so did not make the holder 'Stateless'...

Not that that was the point of the thread or of my comments in this particular circumstance ;)

Soner
I know a lot about this matter having fought this discrimination for decades. It only allows entry for a limited time but not to stay indefinitely, so what is the point of having one? (rhetorical) There are reasons but the main one was to benefit the finances of the exchequer and the Government not wanting, 'little clever yellow, slit-eyed wops running around London when they could making them a fortune from where they came from'!

Strange that having a British Passport does make one a Citizen! An enigma which may even baffle the extreme nationalistic fascists to argue!!

If you are referring to Shamima Begum I’m more than happy to give her her citizenship back as long as we bring back the death penalty for treason and she is charged with it. As we are a democratic country she’ll receive a fairer trial than her side gave to others.

Of which there are a minuscule amount. Fascism is catching on in mainland Europe but has never got very popular in the U.K.

https://www.gov.uk/types-of-british-nat ... sh-subject
Rights as a British subject
You can:
hold a British passport
get consular assistance and protection from UK diplomatic posts
However, you:
are usually subject to immigration controls and do not have the automatic right to live or work in the UK (there are only rare exceptions to this)
are not considered a UK national by the European Union (EU)

Looks like there is 6 types of British passport each with their own rules.

I only just picked this up yesterday. In the past the yearly Residency stamps from Immigration said I was a VISITOR (after 16 years) This time it says that I have a SHORT TERM RESIDENCY PERMIT. I've had the Passport back from Immigration since August and only just noticed. Kicking myself very hard though because its back dated to August but didn't last one didn't run out until 16th October. (Oooops a bit off topic, but at least not about Black Shirts. )

So people wearing black are fascist? Football supporters chanting England are fascist?
The Nazis were very into Green Issues, are Greens fascist?
I think trying to hide that Momentum, BLM, Extinction Rebellion are Marxist by labeling everyone who points out that they are Marxist, Fascist is getting a bit old tbh.

Looks like restrictions extended to 1st Oct & if I'm reading this right the bars are now shut.

"MINISTRY OF HEALTH STATEMENT

45/2018 In line with the Decisions taken by the Communicable Diseases Supreme Committee under the Communicable Diseases Law, the Ministry of Health has decided to implement the following Additional Precautionary Decisions.

1.The quarantine decisions taken until 20 September 2020 will be extended until 01 October 2020 at 23:59.

2.Distributing brochures by hand during the election and referendum propaganda will increase the risk of contamination, so this practice should not be carried out.

3. More frequent and continuous inspections of taverns, restaurants and bet offices by municipalities, closing down businesses that do not comply with the rules

4. Due to disregard of distance rules, bars will be closed until 01 October 2020.

5. Students who will enter our country from B and C group countries will be able to enter the country by giving the PCR test result, which is made within 0-120 hours before the boarding date, and the result is negative, to the officers when they enter the TRNC. Those coming from countries in group B will remain in quarantine for 7 days, and those coming from countries in group C for 14 days.

6. Everyone in quarantine will be tested for PCR at the end of their quarantine period (at the end of the 7th day or the end of the 14th day). It was decided to complete the quarantine periods provided that the PCR test results obtained at the end of the quarantine were negative.

As this says 'quarantine decisions' am i right in thinking they have extended the mandatory quarantining in hotels only ... there is no mention of the Cypriots and Turkish Citizens only rule so as this was due to expire today, does that mean we will be able to fly into Ercan again and do the quarantine?

I am desperately trying to get a definite answer to this as I am due to fly this Saturday 26th, If I get out I know that at least a week in a hotel is certain, but it really is unclear if I am even allowed to be there in the first place. 😬

Great news, better pack some snacks for the quarantine. Where did you confirm it? I rang Turkish Airlines, and they said it was ok, but I wasn't convinced.

I haven't seen any sign of a review, however the fact that everyone from B & C arrivals are doing quarantine, more flights arriving will soon make quarantine accommodation full, as happened previously.

Bumped into a friend in the know this morning and he said that there is a rumour that the border may be opening up again soon to non-Cyps who have had a PCR test. You will still need to do quarantine if coming back from abroad, of course. I don't know how true this is.
