9 out of 10
Covid positive cases.
Yesterday 9 out of 10 from abroad.
Why can't we send them back to where they come from instead of over burdening our meagre resources.
I remember when any non Cypriot who had a 'disease ' was instantly despatched from the island.

I'm guessing most arrivals are students and will be young & asymptomatic.
They have paid thousands for their studies and the country desperately needs them.
I'm sure it's a balancing act being played in many countries around the world.
We will have to get used to living with this virus. Shield the vulnerable and take sensible distancing/cleansing precautions - but ultimately get on with it.

Let's put a big wall up and close off from the rest of the world, eat what we can grow and watch the hotels crumble? OK 9 out of 10 cases probably non of these actually need treatment. However 1000 probably arrived bringing much needed cash, however meagre to quarantine hotels and then into the larger economy. If I was you I would be more concerned about the "1" as they have been out and about in the community!

They're infected with Covid-19.Why can't we send them back to where they come from
"Shedding Virus" as the current terminology goes...
...and you want to reject them and stick them in a plane and ship them back like dıseased cattle, to potentially infect the aircrew and other passengers instead of treating their illness?
These are Human Beings that we're talking about!
How would you feel if you arrived at your home or your holiday destination or place of work, only to discover that you were ill, and instead of being teated with care and compassion, were just turned around, left to suffer, and sent back?
I think that you have a serious problem!

1700 positive students in the two universities in ONE northern city in the UK in one week! That's a problem.

Yes it is a problem, but no one is sending them back to where they came from. So however many numbers, as Keith said, you just can’t send them away.
I suspect somewhere down the line that Turkey is picking up the bill for Covid patients anyway. As has been said before, look after yourself first.
Choose your spouse, friend, relative, in difficult days. On a good day, no one shows their purity.

Keep them all there, 2 weeks later all over it, all have immunity (to some degree for an unknown length of time) they can then get on with life. No longer catch it, no longer shed it though they can cross contaminate.
