Re: Yesterdays Covid-19 cases
My understanding from reading elsewhere the college is called TMK 19 and there was one spouse of one teacher infected not 19 as it has implied.

Re: Yesterdays Covid-19 cases
As they are both my friends the translation into English is a bit lost. There was one (1) teacher who tested positive. Later her spouse and son was also tested positive but her daughter tested negative. All are doing well at this time.
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

I read it the same as you Keith and thought it must have been running amok at the college but saw a correction on Faceache and a comment that it was a poor translation error hence my posting it in case it was a concern to folk.
Waddo thanks for the clarification and pleased to hear they are recovering.

Re: Yesterdays Covid-19 cases
The new mutation now seen in the UK South East and in South Wales is most concerning. It is 70% more virulent.
Certainly in the UK latest measures to slow down the spread have been essentially futile.
A much more strict lock down regime is on its way and I support it.
I do hope that the TRNC authorities act quickly and with conviction before this virus takes a more serious hold.
It is essential to break the chain of transmission.
Stay safe stay apart and be very cautious.

virulent
adjective: virulent
1. (of a disease or poison) extremely severe or harmful in its effects.
"a virulent strain of influenza"
...
"The figure mentioned ... was that the variant may be up to 70% more transmissible."
"virulent" sounds so much more impressive/attention-seeking/dramatic..... panic causing?
Responsible informing?

That's responsible informing....

Two males did a runner from the quarantine hostel!
Syrian refugees, apparently covid is rife in the hostel.
The TC workers who work in the south have been moved.
