Where are you? (in the queue)
For the vaccine.
Over 65 years old CITIZENS will be vaccinated after health workers and other key workers.
Where do ex-pats who pay for government health with residency permit go in the queue, probably after the karpaz donkeys.

There won’t be any rush to vaccinate us “money cows”. So keep wearing your masks people, cause god forbid when all the citizens have been vaccinated, and the virus is still among us. We will be blamed for for spreading it around..

Re: Where are you? (in the queue)
Are you sure it is just for citizens? There has been confusion before in the translation from Turkish to English saying citizens, when it means people who live here, as in citizens and residents.

Re: Where are you? (in the queue)
Yes I get that, but not too long ago, there was a thing about free Covid tests for citizens in Girne, and it was actually for all staying here, not just citizens.
I did read that over 65's have to apply by email, but am not in that category yet. However, if I was, I would be applying.

Re: Where are you? (in the queue)
I contacted a clinic on Facebook to see if at some point it will be available to get the vaccine privately and I had this answer:
‘Unfortunately our doctors only answering medical questions, this is rather a government/ ministry related questions.
If you are over 65 and have a residency and health insurance you are eligible to apply for Sinovac vaccine in coming days, however healthcare workers and citizens will be prioritised’
I wouldn’t be surprised though if over the coming weeks it will be available in the private hospitals

Re: Where are you? (in the queue)
Interesting ljarvo. I can understand healthcare workers being prioritised, but it makes no sense to differentiate between citizens and residents, unless they know something that we don't.

Re: Where are you? (in the queue)
In the past it has been said (can't recall where) that 'Citizens' in reality means people rather than the understanding we have of it. A reply by email from those who have applied will no doubt make it clearer. It is obvious to most people that the need is to vaccinate as many as possible as soon as possible as the virus cannot tell if the person is a citizen or an ex pat.

Re: Where are you? (in the queue)
Thanks Laura B.
For all you ones over 65, apply is my way of thinking. Then the govt/health people have an idea of how many they have to deal with, before they get to dealing with "next on the list of priorities".

Re: Where are you? (in the queue)
alphamike - if there was such a thing as a sarcasm emoji then almost every ex service persons posts would display it, the military, police and other public services use sarcasm as humour - or at least they did until humour was banned along with free speech - and a defence mechanism as well. The nearest I can get to the elusive emoji is to add - lol - at the end.
To be honest I don’t think we will be rejected but I do feel that we should be placed on a separate list that would be dealt with once all TC citizens who wish to be vaccinated have been dealt with.

Re: Where are you? (in the queue)
Having just viewed the on-line application form for “Citizens” who wish to have the vaccination, as there is no provision for residency or passport information but only a space for Identity Number, I consider it highly likely and right that the Government is looking after its citizens first. The application form can be found at COVIDKTBMO.ORG should you be interested.

waddo, the covidktbmo.org gets me nowhere. Nor can I find anywhere were it says they want, copy of passport, residency etc. Maybe I'll have to read C2D in greater details. I just sent basic details to the email address printed in C2D.

Gave up in the End. Wasn't able to register date of birth. No matter what I tried, the only thing to come up was NaN/NaN/Nan.

Re: Where are you? (in the queue)
Sophie, I have just edited my post and changed the address to all capitals! For some reason it will not work by just taping on the link in the post. To get to the online form just put the URL into your browser search in capitals and hit enter - it should then take you straight to the on line form. Of course, unless you have an ID number it is of no use anyway - lol. You never know, the powers may change it yet!

It says that Sinovac is only 50.38% effective. If in the future you want to travel or could travel would it be accepted by the country you are travelling to as acceptable?

The data was taken when the stage 3 numbers where used from the stats where the vaccine was given to high risk peaple.
If it was given to medium risk then the figure would increase.

Re: Where are you? (in the queue)
Thanks for that. Let us know if it proves a success please. We have sent the application via email already and now a bit reluctant to duplicate the effort with an attempt at the online form. I think the Gov will have enough problems sorting it all out anyway. Good luck.

Re: Where are you? (in the queue)
Just submitted it for my husband, the dropdown menu for DOB is hilarious (hemlock for August lol) when it does auto translate. It did put NaN/NaN/NaN in the DOB field when I entered his birth date but that can be deleted and the correct DOB in the format dd/mm/yy was accepted or Turkish can be selected as language if your device does auto translate, as shown in picture below.

Thanks, will have another go then. Have you checked out the some of the other translations for months etc. They are so funny, although Hemlock is priceless isn't it? If they take eldest first rather than alphabetical then at least one of us will be doing well. Could just as well be the towns or which Mayors vote for which party, who knows?
