I have been told but am sceptical that this is true, that we will have a curfew from today Friday 8pm to Monday 5am.

Could anyone let me know if this is correct or just a rumour?

Many thanks
Kate

Good morning,

I have read about it here:
https://www.lgcnews.com/lockdown-in-kyr ... ia-begins/

Not sure if anything has changed since the article was published.

I hope this helps.

Many thanks,
Katie

You are permitted to go to the local shop.
Family meetings were up to 10, this has changed to 'nuclear family '
Curfew 20.00 till 05.00 nightly. (:())

This is for the rest of the island and Girne and Lefkosa stay the same as we are. So we can go out for essentials to the supermarket, pharmacy and petrol station. Those shops that we have been told we can visit we still can. We are not in total lockdown for the entire weekend as some are suggesting. It is merely to bring the rest of the island in line for the weekend to assist with controlling the spread of the virus.

Copied from the BRS.
PARTIAL LOCKDOWN 29th JANUARY - 1st FEBRUARY (REVISED)

THIS ONLY APPLIES TO DISTRICTS OTHER THAN LEFKOSA and GIRNE

Outside of the two districts affected by the lockdown, GIRNE and LEFKOSA, there will be a 'partial lockdown/curfew' between 20.00pm 29th January and 05.00am 1st February.

This means that in ALL Districts outside GIRNE and LEFKOSA all non-essential businesses will be CLOSED during that period.

We will continue to update our members with further details as they are released.

It reads poorly really but what it is saying that each day over the weekend for the rest of the island it is a total curfew between 20:00hrs and 05:00 hours. We already have that here. Likewise with them all none essential businesses will be closed during that time.

I am still a little confused. Are the supermarkets open during the day on Saturday and Sunday?

The confusion is because the word 'curfew' is used when it should be 'lockdown' (or partial lockdown).

I think the confusion is definitely in the wording, the word "total" implies no exception, hence my confusion about the supermarkets being open.

I assume that pool cleaners, gardeners, wood deliverers are all not working at present? I cannot find reference to them.
