What a much needed supermarket for the Esentepe region , however it is sad for me to have to make people aware that some prices are not as displayed.

eg 5 litre box wine price shown 129 tl till price 143 tl last week I was charged 12 tl for Cyprus Today ,when I queried this with the pleasant young lady at the check out,she insisted the price of 12 tl was correct.

I have also heard that the meat price are on the up, was the initial idea to entice us ?, I certainly hope not,

Just be aware and check your recipes.

That happens in a lot of supermarkets unfortunately. Did you look at the front of the newspaper. The price is displayed there

Ouchhh maybe we're to cheap at 80 and 95 for 5L BIB (:Q) In defence of some markets, the supplier marks up the shelf for the shop owner, supplier also acts as shelf stacker for shop owners, shop owner should also synchronize his till with new shelf prices that have been added for him, sometimes they don't or forget until a customer tells them, its happened to me also a few times.

Yes you are correct they are definitely displaying differing prices and when checking out the price at checkout is different . I witnessed a guy today being charged approx 20 TL more at the checkout than displayed price. He quite rightly refused the purchase . In discussion he also stated that he was charged 12 TL for the Cyprus News previously by a female clerk as I was last week . Today however price was 10 TL but perhaps only because the checkout guy was challenged . In I end mistakes who knows ?

Was it only the two items that were incorrectly priced? If so i assume you had more items in your shopping that were ok? There must be thousands of items in the shop, so the odd mistake is bound to happen. We have all heard stories like this about other bigger supermarkets in Girne. I must admit i do not check the shelf price of all the items i buy when out shopping, i just pay at the till , get my receipt and check when i get home. If i think a certain item is expensive i make sure i do not buy that particular thing the next time i go.

Price box wine reverted back to what was displayed, however 15 ltr bottled water now shown as 5 tl till receipt 5.5 tl still very good price, and still very busy which says allot in their favor.

Maybe as with a lot of supermarkets some things are cheaper and some things are more expensive?

I know when they do those basket of grocery comparisons in the UK papers it is rare one supermarket is cheaper across the board, they all have their offers and different things cheaper.
If you could be bothered to go to 5 different supermarkets you could make a decent saving after of course factoring in your petrol and time.

Starling supermarket are at it too, local gin shelf price 30.90Tl, till price 32.90! What was worse that the final bill was 350.18TL and the teller wanted the 18 kurus so gave her 25 kurus and demanded 7 kurus back, she begrudgingly gave me back a 5 kurus coin!! Next time I'll be eating their fruit during my wonderful shopping experience before weighing scales!!
