UK's Captain Sir Tom Moore dies aged 100 after catching COVID: War hero who captured the world's hearts by walking around his garden to raise $50m for NHS before being knighted by the Queen loses battle with coronavirus
Inspirational NHS fundraiser Captain Sir Tom Moore died today in hospital surrounded by his family
The war veteran was admitted to hospital on Sunday night with coronavirus after battling pneumonia
His family say he was taken to hospital after 'requiring help with his breathing' but is not currently in the ICU
A family spokesman revealed Captain Tom's pneumonia battle meant he had not had the coronavirus vaccine
Centenarian became a national treasure over first coronavirus lockdown after raising millions for the NHS
He hasn't been seen in public since pre-Christmas 'bucket list' break he took to Barbados with BA

The one good thing about covid was it introduced Captain Tom to the world.
