The illegals won't get fined that's for sure.

The question is will we still be a Jedi household?

Same here, those who didn't want to go on , disappeared down South (or at east tried to). We had a young student come to us, sat in the sunshine, anything that he couldn't figure out went on as N/A

No it isn't. We are not Swallows and live here full time but do still have a place in the UK where we visit once or twice a year. So we are not swallows by definition. Had we not seen this on here we would know nothing about it so I am grateful for the thread.

Whether you have a property in UK or use an address stating that it is where you stay, even if you are not there on 21st March, the questions go on to ask, where you are staying? where were you last year? etc etc etc. If named at an address, whether there or not, you are expected to complete the questionaire.Chriswright03 wrote: ↑Tue 09 Mar 2021 7:41 amNo it isn't. The main reason for posting the thread was basically to ask whether it is right to threaten citizens for not completing the census, with a hefty fine? Also, with the "amount" of questions asked this time around, what happened to GDPR? Who will access this info? How protected will the information gathered be over the years?
Just my thoughts.

Re: UK 2021 Census - 21st March
I tried to access the site this morning Soner but of course it won't let me without the registration number which we don't have. I messaged daughter in law who checks the post and she said they hadn't had theirs yet either.
In answer to your question about is it right then no I don't think it is. I seem to recall it has always been a legal obligation but the fine is a little unrealistic especially considering many have had little or no income for best part of a year.

I suppose the answer is, if you don't want a fine then answer the thing. A lot hangs on results of a census, country planning, number of schools, number of hospitals. The eventual results are used by huge amount of organisations for no nefarious purpose other than to learn the demographics of an area. I used to work for one of the largest house building companies in the UK and I know we used the results to determine whether or not to purchase land.

The problem is as with a lot of these punishments it only punishes and criminalises generally law abiding citizens.Soner wrote: ↑Tue 09 Mar 2021 9:51 am

Those who don't fill it in because they are an illegal alien etc will risk a fine because that will be the least of their problems.
The information gathered can be a useful snapshot into the era for future historians but I would question its accuracy as people either don't complete it or make stuff up.
As for who can access the data I would take any assurances that it will not be released or used with a pinch of salt.
As the value of companies like Facebook proves, data is extremely valuable. In a year's time when this census is gathering dust in some warehouse or on a server with zero security you can't tell me the information won't be sold on.

So that's how we don't get overcrowded schools and hospitals?benjaminbutton wrote: ↑Tue 09 Mar 2021 11:29 am

Census forms are going out now and can be completed on line or if you need hard copy that can be requested as well on www.census.gov.U.K. or your relative could call 0800 141 2021

If your phone can receive a text from the U.K. it is simple enough to request and receive a household access code

Re: UK 2021 Census - 21st March
Yes I am aware I can request a number by text but it is in hand to check the post a couple of days before the due date and if we still have not received the number we will do that then.
My point being it is not just for swallows. Without this thread I would have known nothing of this so Kibkom to the rescue again.

This year I had to tick lots of boxes to confirm I'm a straight, white, English, Christian male who still identifies as the sex he was born as.
Next one in 10 years will just have one box saying are you racist?

I’m identifying as a black woman with various disabilities and hope to gear this up into getting a place on woman’s para Olympic swimming team.Hedge-fund wrote: ↑Thu 11 Mar 2021 12:01 pmThis year I had to tick lots of boxes to confirm I'm a straight, white, English, Christian male who still identifies as the sex he was born as.
