Re: Looking to come to TRNC in June
I stand to be corrected, but I believe the Government will announce on June 7th which category countries will be placed in and it will be different rules for vaccinated and non vaccinated, apart from the red category when everyone will have to quarantine.

It appears home quarantine is available to all ages now but from 7th June we go to traffic lights which for vaccinated Brits will likely involve 3 days pre-flight & 3 days post flight PCRs but no quarantine.

Not sure where you get it from officially but my wife is part of a Facebook group and there is a guy on there called Issy who usually translates official messages from Turkish. He seems pretty reliable and very helpful.
That is as good as I have at the moment.

Cyprus Today sister paper Kibris (its a daily) can be obtained on line and click on Translate. That's where my English, turkish speaking, friend gets her information from, prior to it being Gazetted. Nothing is supposed to be totally legal until it is Gazetted. Soner also puts the information on this Forum. I've learned the hard way not to totally trust Facebook information, but that's just me.

Ok can't copy and paste from what's app but vaccine certified double jabs UK
Yellow category 8 to 69 we are 26.8 at present on their chart per 100,000 in the last 7 days
This means PCR test 72 hours before no quarantine but pcr 72 hours after arrival
WITHOUT VACCINE
This means PCR test 72 hours before 7 DAYS QUARANTINE but pcr 72 hours after arrival PCR before release

Re: Looking to come to TRNC in June
Thanks for the replys. As we are vaccinated and travelling from an orange country, it says pre test required, no quarantine and pcr test required between 72-96 hours after entry.
I take that as not having to quarantine (hotel or at home) but need to get a pcr within 72-96 hours to prove we are negative.
Is that correct? If so, why do people on the yellow have to get their second test with 72 hours. That doesn’t make sense, or are we required to isolate at home until the second negative result.

Hi guys,
For home quarantine please note that everyone residing in the same house as the person arriving also has to go into 10-day quarantine.
With my son visiting us from Istanbul, it means my wife and I will also have to wear the wristbands.

Agree. There are different rules depending on if you are travelling to or from the TRNC.Hedge-fund wrote: ↑Fri 28 May 2021 1:26 pm
I think people are at cross purposes regarding the direction of travel.
For those that have been vaccinated, my understanding is that at present the U.K. is in the list of yellow countries as far as travelling to the TRNC from the U.K. is concerned. Therefore it is a PCR test in last 72 hrs before arrival and PCR test 72 hrs after arrival. No quarantine. If travel from the U.K. to the TRNC is via Turkey then the rules are very slightly different as Turkey is an amber country. PCR test in last 72 hrs before arrival and PCR test 72-96 hrs after arrival. No quarantine.
The rules are different if you have not been vaccinated and are travelling to the TRNC. It’s still a PCR test before travel and also after quarantine. Quarantine is 7 days for yellow countries and 10 days for amber. Best to have had the vaccine.
Travelling to the U.K. means that arrivals must comply with U.K. rules. At present Turkey is classed as a red country which does mean if you arrive via Turkey it’s tests plus 14 days quarantine at your own expense. Currently over £1,500 per person.
The rules are constantly changing of course but hopefully the vaccination roll out in the U.K. would make travel easier to the TRNC over the next few months. Turkey hopefully in time will be downgraded from a red country for those wishing to return to the U.K.
It is a little complicated but I certainly feel more positive as each month passes.

Some travel to the ROC and land at Larnaca. Then cross the border into the TRNC. Plenty of information and examples of this on other North Cyprus websites. There are also details of TRNC taxi firms who will not only do the pick up but also help and advise as to what is required when entering the TRNC. Wether that be PCR tests, home quarantine, bracelet fitting for those in quarantine, registering on the TRNC App to monitor quarantine movement etc. All dependant on what country you are travelling from and rules in place at the time.
Currently the ROC allow U.K. citizens in at present and are giving a 90 day stay (Could change at anytime), providing they comply with the necessary PCR testing prior to travel. No quarantine at present. You do however have to put in a ROC address for your stay, which appears not to be an issue (Hotel etc) Be aware that ROC immigration could be “difficult” if they notice residency stamps in passport or you mention travel to the north. Plus you must exit via the ROC within the 90 days and no return in 180 days. So if you decided to leave via Ercan and then want to return via Larnaca at some future date, that could be a problem as the ROC will have no record of you leaving. Hence if over 90 days you will have overstayed and subject to a fine or worse if trying to gain entry via a ROC airport.
Personal choice of course as to how you travel and of course the rules are always changing. Other North Cyprus websites are always worth a read to see what the latest situation is.

Thanks for that Posh. I was aware of that but I suppose my query is........are you saying that anyone that transits through Istanbul Airport will be classed as coming from Turkey & not the UK?

My understanding is that anyone coming to the TRNC via a stop in Turkey is classed as coming from Turkey. After all you disembark the aircraft, wander around the airport mixing with others before boarding to fly to Ercan. Currently Turkey is an amber country as far as TRNC is concerned so it’s PCR test prior to travel and PCR test after arrival but no quarantine. It’s very similar to the UK (Yellow country), just the timing of the PCR test after arrival slightly different. No idea why this slight difference.Hedge-fund wrote: ↑Fri 28 May 2021 6:19 pmPoshinDevon wrote: ↑Fri 28 May 2021 5:22 pmNo.Hedge-fund wrote: ↑Fri 28 May 2021 4:29 pmSurely everyone who travels from UK to TRNC comes via Turkey?

That is certainly the case going via Istanbul back to the UK but I'm not sure TRNC look at it the same way.
Otherwise they would just class anyone landing at Ercan as whatever colour Turkey is.

Agree with your post HedgeFund.
Like I posted I am happy to be proved wrong. If travelling from U.K. to TRNC means the U.K. is still classed as a yellow country despite the transit in Turkey, which is currently amber then all the better.

Look forward to hearing how it goes.
From the current rules the requirements for both entry from U.K. or Turkey look to be very similar. Just a difference in timing of PCR test after arrival. Providing both vaccinations have been completed there appears to be no quarantine from U.K. or Turkey.

Re: Looking to come to TRNC in June
If you are flying on June 11th from the UK to Larnaca/Paphos with a TRNC destination and are flying back to the UK from Larnaca/Paphos, quite apart from the Vaccination and testing requirements of the 3 places involved what are you doing about;
1) The TRNC destination on the passenger location form? How do you know the ROC will permit entry at Larnaca/Paphos? Or the airline allow you to board the aircraft in the UK if there is any doubt.
2) Crossing into the TRNC, and in some ways more importantly, the crossing back into the ROC. Are non Cypriot UK passport holders able to cross back and forth? I am advised by the ROC consulate in London they are not.
I am hoping you can say what you have done to overcome what I think are unresolved problems.Or have I missed something and am concerned about problems that do not exist?

There are plenty of reports on other North Cyprus websites of people arriving in the south and transiting across the border to the north. North Cyprus taxi firms are also doing pick ups and helping at border etc to ensure the rules are followed.
So it is happening.
However your questions are valid as on arrival in the south an address has to be given. Some have put down a hotel in the south, others have even put an address in the north. At present it seems that people are managing to cross to the TRNC. Of course there is always the issue of the return at a future date. The south are at present giving 90 day in 180 day stays.
It’s personal choice as to wether you come in to the south and hope all goes well. Not heard any reports of difficulty boarding. arrival or on entry, but some people have been quizzed on exit from the south.
However; we all know that this could all change very quickly and perhaps the hassle of dealing with two sets of rules and immigration officials makes entry via the south a bit of a risk for some.

I own a house in Cyprus so no problem flying will give a ROC address as a place to stay.
Will be picked up at airport by taxi and taken to my house.
Been told by taxi firm that a pcr 72 hour pre flight will do to get across the one boarder which is open.

Prime Minister Saner Turizm also announced that the studies for double vaccinated persons entering the country without quarantine, which will constitute the most important initiative, have been completed and this practice will be started as of June 4. Prime Minister Saner noted that the double vaccinated people will have PCR done at the airport during their entry into the country with PCR and vaccine documents made 72 hours before their arrival and that if the result is negative, they will be allowed to enter the country without quarantine.

Hopefully as the restrictions in the TRNC ease, flights to and from Ercan will become more stable. This in turn will encourage many to travel.
Using the ROC as an arrival airport is personal choice and it all seems to be fine at the moment. However; it is in my opinion a little more risky and stressful. It will take just one incident to make people think is it worth the risk.
We are all aware how “fickle” our friends in the ROC can be.

We need to book flights to Dubai in September, the flight times are far better than Ercan however, not knowing the situation with the South side as yet we will leave it a week or two to see what transpires.

I own a house in Cyprus so no problem flying will give a ROC address as a place to stay.
Will be picked up at airport by taxi and taken to my house.
Been told by taxi firm that a pcr 72 hour pre flight will do to get across the one boarder which is open.
It would be hugely useful to hear from you again when you are in your house as to how the journey went. There is nothing like first hand experience to build a picture.
You mentioned four flights a day London - Larnaca . On the BA site I can only find one or two LHR-LCA flights a day until the last couple of days in June and then four a day from 1st July. Or did you include the return flights LCA-LHR ?

you can book your test with through BA we chose Randox Drop Box service cost £60 each you might need to book them early we just booked ours for next Tuesday.
I will post here on stage by stage, I can also give the ROC address if it will be useful by pm once I have tested it.
I'm leaving now to go find myself....if I arrive before I get back, please ask me to wait!

@TAC
Which taxi firm are you using if you don’t mind me asking?
I have used Bellapais taxi (wife got number off Facebook) but I have not had confirmation since emailing flight details. Could be waiting for the much anticipated traffic light list to come out.
At the moment I am red for the south and yellow for the north (predicted list).
It’s all quite complicated.

Our country has been placed on the red list so we are now considering doing 2 weeks in the south prior to going north. Mrs doesn’t fancy the home quarantine and the wristband.
If we do do 2 weeks in the south first, does anyone know how we prove that we have actually spent 2 weeks in the south? Would it be linked to our passport or would we just show our flight tickets?
