Home quarantine introduced. Some thoughts and questions
Hello everyone,
I have somebody who wants to come and visit me here in the TRNC. It seems that home quarantine has been introduced. However, I was not able to find any details on how exactly it is being implemented.
For example - I currently live alone and my guest can spend the 10 days home quarantine at my place. Will the authorities be ok with it, since the person will be quarantined and I will not be (or will I be as well ? ) and I will be able to move freely (makes the whole home quarantine idea a bit useless). Or does the home quarantine only apply to people who have their own property here, where they can reside only by themselves for 10 days quarantine.
In general how does the whole procedure work from the person's arrival till the end of the 10 days home quarantine?
If anybody has an idea about the whole thing, please share your knowledge. Highly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Which country is the visitor coming from? Have they had both vaccines?
Quarantine ends for 99% of visitors from 8th June amd most countries will be put into a traffic light system where pcr tests will mostly suffice.

Quite. If your guest has to home-quarantine, then you will also have to. Recently, my brother-in-law and his family came out from the UK. For home-quarantine, they stayed in the family house in Lefkoşa. So as to avoid my father-in-law also having to go into quarantine he stayed instead with us for 10 days.
Have a look at the English version of https://kktckarantina.com/
But here's a couple of my brother-in-law's experiences :
They were given 30 minutes with the designated taxi to reach the house in Lefkoşa, but one of the wristbands started buzzing before they got there. They were called and had to explain that they hadn't yet reached the house. Also because there were a few internet outages during the 10 days, they were visited on those occasions so as to ascertain their whereabouts.
All in all, it was carried out very well.

Guests are coming from Turkey and they do not have vaccines so far. We are trying to get the vaccines before their visit if possible, as I believe this will ease up the situation.

Prime Minister Saner Turizm also announced that the studies for double vaccinated persons entering the country without quarantine, which will constitute the most important initiative, have been completed and this practice will be started as of June 4. Prime Minister Saner noted that the double vaccinated people will have PCR done at the airport during their entry into the country with PCR and vaccine documents made 72 hours before their arrival and that if the result is negative, they will be allowed to enter the country without quarantine. Prime Minister Saner also announced that it was decided to set up activities such as amusement park, festival area, bingo, etc. in open areas, taking into account the social distance rules.

How does home quarantine work on a communal site? Do you have to stay in your apartment all day? How do you get food and water etc?

On arrival to your apartment, you register the location on your smartphone. If you then stray more than a certain distance from that location, your wrist band will start buzzing and you will receive a phone call to ask you what's going on. From all accounts the distance would seem to be at most 30 metres. You could probably take your rubbish out to the bins, but not much else. Check out the video on this web-site - https://kktckarantina.com/ - It has English subtitles.manyworlds wrote: ↑Tue 01 Jun 2021 2:53 pmHow does home quarantine work on a communal site? You'd have to have it delivered.
