Anyone had a second vaccine appointment recently?

Any advice please about these please - I have an elderly friend due for a second jab tomorrow, but no appointment text yet????

My second is due in a few days but again no text yet.

Are these going ahead as planned, does anyone know. Has anyone had a text appointment recently??

Or do you just turn up on the date given on the card given at the first one....

Thanks

I just turned up at the Lapta Clinic on the day. No appointment time was given. In and out very quickly. Take the green card, given at the first appointment with you. No need for your passport.

You may find you have to go to the state hospital for your 2nd jab if it's not Sinovac. I went up to Esentepe Health Centre this morning and was told they are only doing Sinovac and I would have to go to the state hospital for my 2nd AZ one. Mine isn't due until 13th July but apparently now they will do them after 2 months rather than the 3 months originally stated. It seems you have to just turn up at the State hospital.

I am due 2nd jab AZ at Lapta Clinic in a couple of weeks.! Thanks for the info all - I will check things out with the Lapta Clinic.

Come-on-Aylin - if you are off to the State Hospital soon would you mind updating this post as to which part of the hospital you head to once parked up and if there is any useful signage pointing the way.

Thanks in advance

Of course, I believe it's via the entrance from the rear car park, I've also seen room 309 mentioned. I'll let you know.

How early. I have mine due on 9th Aug, Wonder if OK to have second jab now.

My second AZ jab is due 5th July and I understand that it is better to have approx 12 weeks after first. The date for second one was written by nurse on my green card. However I am going on that date but will ask for Sinovac as my second one, according to some experts there is better immunity if second jab is of different make - also I am little worried about the (however slight) possibility of blood clots with AZ.

UK and parts of Europe pulled it to 8 weeks for 2nd AZ - the thinking initially was to get more people vaccinated with the first jab hence the 12 weeks.

I went for the 2nd one after 8 weeks.

I read that mixing AZ with maybe Pfizer is ok but not so sure about Sinovax as this isn’t giving the protection like AZ etc .... I would read about it first.

Someone on another forum had 1st AZ jab 31st May and 2nd AZ jab 30th June - a 4 week interval now allowed with AZ

Update on AZ jabs. Went to Girne State Hospital yesterday for a look see. Was told best time is after 11 am and before 2pm, was there at 10.30am yesterday and it wasn't too busy. Got there today just after 11am, very quiet, only 2 ahead of us but NO vaccines available - 'coming in half an hour' allegedly. Waited until 12:15 when some turned up and was out by 12:25. They were administering them in room 309, go in the back entrance of the hospital (via car park) up the ramp, into the building, straight ahead then go downstairs, follow signs for 'vaccination room' on the walls. You can also enter via a door to the left and below the ramp, it takes you straight into the correct corridor.

There are seats available and it wasn't too hot. Met someone who had been there at 8am yesterday and today who said it was mobbed at that time. They also tried the Harley Davidson place but they didn't have AZ jabs.
