£600
Would not go to Optician by the Traffic lights (Elderly Lady) told me I needed both eyes done.
Went for a second opinion, was told I didn't need either eye done.

I agree with post 2, poor outcome and my poor choice

I would agree with post 2 I was told the same. My friend went and had one done and it was a disaster.

I have just had my second one done by the Lady doctor no problem at all, 600 sterling, same price as two years ago.

Dr Güvenir in Lefkoşa operated on my cataracts 3 years ago and it cost TL4500 per eye. Excellent treatment, thoroughly recommend Dr Güvenir and his highly competent eye clinic.

Re: Cataract operation
I have been to Dr Guvenir on a couple of occasions and can honestly say he is brilliant. If I ever need a cataract op he would be my first choice. Very professional and honest. He told me that I had a cataracts but wasn’t necessary to have an op at the time, whereas I had been to the other place and was told it needed doing badly. 6 years later still no problem.

Re: Cataract operation
same as hair cut, husband and i both told we needed immediate operations, but not according to the opticians in uk, neither of us needed them done - they're too quick to whip the money out of your pockets here; have to be careful and only go on verified recommendations, like those given a above

Re: Cataract operation
Well, it's frightening that so many people experienced the same diagnoses as I did at the "Eye Clinic".
I didn't mention the second opinion was given by the eye specialist at Kamiloğlu Hospital, the equipment in his office makes the eye clinic look like something from a museam.
A 45-minute examination was 150tl, which was 9 months ago. It took about a week to get an appointment, but well worth it.
I think it's called "Eye Clinic", if it's not I'm sure someone will put me right and I'll edit my post...

Does anyone have recommendations for eye test for specs? The only place I know of in Kyrenia is the one mentioned on this topic.

Re: Cataract operation
The eye specialist at Kamiloglu Hospital is Dr Huseyin. He is very good with up to date equipment. Both my partner and I recently had detached retinas (don't know why both of us!) and these were lasered by him, all well and good now. No fuss, no pain, no hanging around and so reasonable in price.Hair Cut wrote: ↑Thu 01 Jul 2021 8:50 amWell, it's frightening that so many people experienced the same diagnoses as I did at the "Eye Clinic".
