What memories. 1988 about 30 expats living in Kyrenia drove to border and we were let in for about 2 hours just to go to Litsas. Excitement getting ot ham.

Never heard of Litsas, but would love to know if it sells anything special or is it just another version of Sha or Lemar etc.

Re: Litsas Super Market.
YES ITS GREAT !
It went through a change about 4 years ago when new owners stocked it with a lot of Waitrose products. They are the distributor for Waitrose in Cyprus, but they also sell a lot of other brands. Its always well priced and fruit/veg is fresh. If you are a home bread baker like me then you will appreciate the Waitrose sourced bread flours rather than the dubious ones we can get in NC, or even the dodgy ones sold by Carrefour - often with insects.
So go there and you won't be disappointed, nice restaurant on the edge of the car park too.

Thanks mish for the info. I'm not a bread maker but I noticed last week at Sha that they advertise a whole range of Marriages flour and other specialist British manufacturers. I now what you mean about flour here. Weevils seem to be most favourite!!

Pleased to help. They have lovely Tahini pies, and nice cooked marinaded ham joints too. (Lidl in Paralimni is our second choice for those!).

Been eating Weevilbix for the last 14 years, you can catch them when they float on top of the milk if you are picky - lol. Have not seen Shredded Weevil for ages in the North, anyone know where to get it?
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

Waddo, in 2018 (see how momentous it was, I can actually remember) I bought the last four boxes on sale in Sha. Hadn't seen them for years before that and NEVER seen them since. Obviously not an item to the locals taste! If you really enjoy fricassee of Weevil I can give you half a bag that were alive and wriggling in a bag of dog biscuits I purchased recently.
