Man stabbed to death in Girne
Source : http://www.gundemkibris.com/5-bicak-dar ... 50887h.htm
According to the Kıbrıs newspaper, at around 8.30pm yesterday evening, 63-year old Dağaşanlı (shown below), known to his friends as "Koreli", was stabbed in total five times - three times under his left arm, once in his stomach and once in his liver.
According to the newspaper, prior to the attack Dağaşanlı had been talking with his daughter in London. Apparently during the conversation there had been a knock at the door and he told his daughter he'd call her back. When he didn't (call her back) his daughter alerted the neighbours, who found his dead body
In the report it writes that Dağaşanlı was quite a wealthy man, probably related to his many years working in London as a jeweller. Unfortunately though he was disabled - "ortopedik özürlü" is normally used to describe someone who can't walk. In any case, to help him, he had paid for the services of a carer. It is suspected that this carer, Makbule Mordoğan, or rather her arrest, was the reason behind the murder.
Last week Dağaşanlı told police that Mordoğan had stolen 500 TL of his money ... and as a result she was arrested trying to leave Cyprus at Ercan. Mordoğan was remanded in custody for ten days awaiting trial. It’s not 100% clear in the Kıbrıs report, but one thus presumes that she is still in custody for the alleged theft. However, it could well have been one of her relatives or friends paying Dağaşanlı a visit last night

Re: More details on last night's murder in Girne :(
I knew the gentleman who was murdered he was as I said a gentleman. He had a severe stroke some years ago and had struggled to recover partial use of his arm and leg. A friend of mine is head of security and he said there was no robbery but it looked like a professional killing. So so sad rest in peace Mehmet.
