Muhtar letter
Could you advise me how long the above lasts, before needing to have a replacement. Thanks

Re: Muhtar letter
It seems to depend entirely on what you need it for! For instance, you need a new one when applying for residency every year. This because you may have moved since the last one! If you have moved house since your last letter then you need a new one anyway. Your pink/blue book should always show your current address and that can not be updated without a new Muhtar letter. Just another part of being in Cyprus - lol.
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

Have been on the island for many years and only required a Muhtar letter for residency renewal.
The letter must be no more than one month old for residency renewal purposes.
If you are eligible for a 1 or 2 year residency permit you only need to get a new Muhtar letter within a month of your next renewal application.

When we moved house a few years ago we took our little pink books to the Polis to have the address updated as instructed therein.waddo wrote: ↑Sun 15 Aug 2021 5:26 amIt seems to depend entirely on what you need it for! We were effectively told not to be silly and sent away.

Mowgli597, suffered the same fate a bit back. Going to be interesting this year as the country has change the name of our road - it used to be 20 Temmuz Cad but now has changed and 20 Temmuz Cad is now out at Karaoglanoglu - as well as Dikmen and Iskele - so don't really know where we live at the moment. That and the local belli put the wrong number on the house so even our number is wrong now. I will ask the Mukhtar in the morning where we live and see what he comes up with - lol.

That’s often the first sign! 74 you say?
I know when my mother turned 75 her memory wasn’t what it was so she decided to walk a mile a day as she’d heard that helps.
She’s 88 now and we have no idea where the hell she is.

Re: Muhtar letter
I think the reply from Acacia is the answer I need. i.e. must not let our Muhtar letter exceed one month between him signing the letter and our applying for our residency.
