Good explanation but strange that no power cuts were needed on Saturday and Sunday! Probably because everybody was out voting for their choice of leaders and had turned off all their power requirements whilst doing so?

Maybe if they collected all the money owed to them already they would not have to put up the price of electric so much - 1TL up to 5TL will be interesting indeed! Who can afford that apart from the people who don't already pay their own bills?

They have now borrowed money as an ovedraft from Capital Bank to buy fuel. They already owe money to other banks so how will it be paid back?

As always, the consumer will pay for poor management of services - no matter what the services are.

Didn't have a power cut yesterday evening, just had a heavy "brown out" which is more dodgy for electrical equipment than just about anything. However for about half an hour, upstairs was fine but downstairs was not, eventually upstairs went off as well, i.e. a ring main problem. Others around here were in exactly the same position. . At least they can say "we didn't cut your electricity off", BUT for safety reasons we had to turn it all off ourselves.!!!

You were lucky BB. We had no power from around 15:30 yesterday after some lightning strikes. Came back on around midnight. Was blooming frozen, so ended up having a very early night.

basically all activities from Kibtek are led by the gov.
mainly the electricity prices and the funding, but also the "way to produce energy" and "cut off" policies.
a hotel or gov office did not pay and was cut off? one hr later a directive from a minister is on kibteks table to reconnect.
kibtkek wants to put up prices? no way.
kibtek wants to build a solar park, or a wind tubine? no funding.
kibtek needs more MW.. a gas turbine maybe?.. no way... instead a rented diesel engine is installed with a guaranteed purchase price.
kibtek never had any monies to do anything "future orientated". not even a filter for teknecik was in the budget.
they alwaya had to rely on "donations" eg, the teknecik power station 1 or the solar park in serhatköy (EU funding)
to blame kibtek is absolutely useless, the "state of emergency" goes on for decades and btw, the ruling gov just was confirmed...
so, the majority seem to have no problems with the situation.
hayat budur iste.

Rather than cutting off people who pay their electricity bills for 90 minutes why not cut off hotels who don’t pay their electricity bills for an hour? If a business can’t afford to pay its utility bills and often don’t pay its staff even in pre covid times then the business isn’t viable

Strange last night our electric went off at 18:00 neighbours both sides on but neighbour opposite off too but either side on. Street lights one off one on . Had to go out as we were no 17 in the kibtek q and was told the hairdressers in the next street on but green palm off and next door on. When we returned after 22:30 everything back on.
