Nokia Phones - anyone know of a shop selling these.
I want to buy one of the latest Nokias, but Samsung seems to be the flavour of the month here and I don't want Samsung or Iphone.

sophir.
Walk down the high street in Girne until you come to the one way street on the right turn right into this street and walk down the right hand side.
I think it is the last shop on the right, it is a Nokia shop.
The guy sold me mine he was very helpful.

Thanks for that karmel, very helpful. I refuse to be bamboozled by endless Ads on TV i.e. if you don't buy a Samsung or an iPhone then you're nobody!!!

Stick to what you want sophie. I've had an iphone for just over a year now, and am not impressed at all. It's over rated unrealiable, and I cant wait for the contract to end....

Sophie, I doubt anyone judges the other by what phone they use. You get what you like and as long as you are happy with it it is no one's business! Everything is hyped up by the advertising campaigns and many people allow themselves to be used in this way. People are so foolish at times, they fail to see what is exactly going on. Throw away the old one and buy the latest one with never ending changes to models that seem to offer everything on a tiny screen, every year or two - what a crazy market?
Rest of my family have iPhones, Balackberries etc, I have been using an older model of Nokia, that served me perfectly well (over 2 years now) for what I wish to use it for. More importantly, clumsy and forever rushing as I do, I must have dropped it on marble floors, on the road, down the stairs, on dozens of occasions as well as stepping on it accidentally on one occasion! No need to repair, worked just as fine after putting it back together. The phone is a little worn out now so if I change it, it will definitely be another Nokia.

Hi Sophie,
I went to the shop that karmels suggested yesterday and they have now moved (although they still have phone accessories and there is a repair shop there).
If you keep walking down the high street you will come to a set of crossroads; Altinbas jewellers used to be over on the right hand corner, this is now a phone shop, it seemed to have a good selection though I was just looking for a basic Nokia.

There is a Phone shop in the Karakum Lemar ( the one with Burgrer city), I know they sell the latest models but hand on heart can't say if they will have the latest Nokia, at least its free parking and not far to walk when you do
Unlike blackbird I personally like the I phone but then I have an iMac, which make it very easy to manage.I was a staunch Nokia user for over 12 years then switched to iPhone which i have now used for the last 4-5 years,
Mobiles arter really down to personal preference and what you want them to do
Good luck

Re: Nokia Phones - anyone know of a shop selling these.
I checked in all the places recommended, but no-one is stocking the Nokia Lumina. The reply I got on enquiring was "I'll be a long time before that model is available here as people don't want Nokia, and if it is, it will be expensive. Why don't you get someone to bring in a Sim free one from UK? It will be at least £200 cheaper than we could sell it for" Well I've done just that and it should be here on Friday, from Tesco by the way. Hope they had it in stock. My second choice was a Motorola and my 3rd choice the Sony Experia. I wait with baited breath, to see which comes.
