Catalkoy Water Bills
Anyone had one for January yet? Anyone who normally pays bills via PayPoint had any trouble actually paying Catalkoy Municipality since December? Things seem to have stopped working all of a sudden over here - lol.

Our friends pay ours. No bill at the beginning of January, so popped up to the Beledyre office. Apparently problem with reading the meters, they paid 25tl towards rubbish/lighting and told water would be sorted next time. We will see

Terri299, Thanks for that. I guess that out of the 84 views then the other 80 either wondered where Catalkoy was, have either paid their bills or not got them or just could not be bothered to reply - lol.
I will go see them on Thursday with a reading from my meter because I don't really want to be charged for an extra 10 ton or so at the highest rate just because they can't come and read the damn meter!

Re: Catalkoy Water Bills
There is this wonderful new invention called a backup, I wonder if they have ever heard of it??? Sounds more like the ransom was paid and then all contact to the outside was cut off. That would mean the water meter handset could not talk to the system so they have stopped using it till they figure out how to get around that little problem. Best backup all your data you gave to immigration as if they go down we will all be asked to provide it again - lol.

tutor4u - I see everything twice - lol. DarkAli, many thanks, some parts work and like me, some parts don't it seems. Will wander down on Friday, always a good day to ask questions as lots of guys around waiting to knock off early.

Or opened it to see what was the matter with Catalkoy water bills - until you read it you’ve no idea

Personally I opened it because I wondered whether it was a comment regarding an increase in water charges.
Down the road from you, here in Ozanköy, the bill has gone from a “fixed” amount (I presume we’re charged for a minimum amount whether we use that much or not - but would pay extra for more) of TL57 to TL77.
Has anyone else picked up on this or is it a one-off?

Re: Catalkoy Water Bills
Catalkoy is on a fixed amount for the first 10 tonne, which I think is the same for all areas anyway. Can't tell you if the cost has gone up or down because - funny old thing - we have not had a bill yet.

I haven’t had a bill yet either, but, being the poor relations here in Ozanköy village centre I guess (but thank goodness for it!) we still actually have a person who comes round, reads the meter, and leaves a little chitty stuck in the door frame.

When did they change back to this?
I thought when the Turkish water came across we were charged about 6tl a unit.

Re: Catalkoy Water Bills
SND1966. I sit corrected, shows how much attention I pay to the water bills - lol. Today I got my little slip of paper bill in the box so in a few days I will be able to use PayPoint and pay my bill - happy again. Checking back 5 months and averaging out the costs, it looks like anything up to 12 ton (can't say more than that as have never used more than 12 ton) works out to 4.75TL per ton. I do know for sure that each area pays the same amount for the Turkish water and then charges slightly different amounts to the customer but it looks like Catalkoy is very fair indeed. So for my 12 ton usage this last period I pay 57TL for the water and a further 22.5TL for the other odds and sods - £4.41 at todays exchange rate - a price even just for dustbin emptying twice a week is an absolute bargain!
