I was very surprised by a Donkey and two Horses (a mare and her foal) when out walking our new puppy a couple of nights ago. I have since seen these lovely animals several more times roaming around the fields close to our villa.
We live in Catalkoy and this is not the first time we have seen horses ambling about the place. But this time I am concerned for their safety and health. Whilst they seem quite comfortable at the moment when the weather turns drier, feeding will be more difficult, water will be scarce and, of course, no doubt they need specialist help and attention.
Does anyone know who, these animals belong to, or even whether the Municipality or Veterinary Department know anything about them?
Thanks fir any info in advance.

Re: Donkey and Horses
The only place I know of that has donkey's and the odd horse is attached to the Picnik area just off the Catalkoy/Ozankoy road - sadly the guy who was looking after this area is the same man who met his end earlier this week in the ambush on that very road so I don't know what is going to happen to that area now. However, just past that area on the left hand side is where the riding stables are and they may be able to throw some light on the problem for you. I will ask around as well.
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

Re: Donkey and Horses
If its a chestnut mare and her foal they are generally in the area of the red roofed houses and I always thought owned by the houses on the left going up the hill after what was/is a dairy farm

Try looking into the Parliament legislative chambers and you'll see many donkeys there! Saves a trip to the Karpas!

Thank you snd1966, this is precisely the area. I was just a bit concerned that maybe they had been abandoned. The donkey is very friendly and I thought donkeys were meant to be looked after by a government regulated concern. But having spoken to Tashkent Park they are not bothered at all!

Sunnyjim, I think you'll find that Brinsley has his tongue well and truly in his cheek. Remember we've just had our Government elections!!
