Help with Guyende Kal app please

Hi all

I appreciate that this has probably been covered many times but I cannot find the info we are looking for - we are flying on Saturday into Larnaca and then crossing at Pile and as we are fully vaccinated I believe we just need the Cyprus Flight Pass and the Guyende Kal app?

Our issue is with the app as it does not recognise the QR code from our Covid pass and makes reference to needing to upload the Adapass - do we need to upload the Adapass as well - any ideas where we are going wrong please?

I have just completed a "dummy form" it does ask you to upload your adapass.

When you get as far as do you have a vaccination card it says you need to upload the QR code found in Ada pass or green pass or HES code. We have tried to scan our covid pass however it keeps coming up as not valid. Any ideas please - do we need an ADA pass? Many thanks.

After struggling to get my NHS Covid pass uploaded via my phone, I decided to get the pass sent to me via email . The QR code was eventually accepted by opening the emailed pass on a laptop and scanning that from my phone. I do not have an ada pass . App is telling me that i can now travel. Only issue is I didn't realise its only valid for 3 days so will need to repeat before arriving next week !

After all this time there is still confusion around completing the information required for the GUVENDE KAL app and the ADAPASS.

It really should not be this difficult or confusing. Some may be comfortable with the process but many struggle with it. Especially those of all ages who are not I.T. literate or do not have the required technology. The time constraints on completion also causes difficulties. Not everyone knows someone who can offer help or support.

I read many forums and whilst there is an overload of information there always seems to be an issue, glitch or something that does not read right.

After over a year all those travelling want is something that works and is easy to complete. The more difficult it is or if things do not work as they should, the less will bother. It will just be another obstacle which could well impact on tourists/holidaymakers who will travel to another destination where the arrival process is easier. It really should not be this difficult or stressful for some.

Posh in Devon. Re your last paragraph. I do agree and am afraid others here who have holiday homes here are probably the same. I know of one couple who after 17 years of holidaying here are sitting down and seriously thinking of putting their property on the market. Like us they have spent thousands and thousands on retail goods including cars (not to mention their property and mega bugs to solicitors trying to sort out illegalities by original builder etc). What should be total relaxation for them, is fast becoming nothing but expensive stress +++++. Almost forgot, Doctors and Dentists here have also benefited enormously.

I am sure that the majority of us fully understand some of the frustration of living in the TRNC. I certainly do.

However something as simple as completing an on line arrival form should not be this confusing or difficult. It has been over a year now since this app has been in place along with the ADAPASS. It should by now be free of glitches and misinterpretation. In summary it should be a quick, easy and seamless operation.

Yet it isn’t. There are lots of guides on a multitude of forums but still people struggle with it.

We have no intention of not enjoying the TRNC, but as I have said the more difficult it is made to travel to and arrive in the TRNC, the less will bother. That includes holidaymakers, swallows and all those who are only on island for a relatively short period.

There used to be a link on the Guvenlik Kal webpage for people that did not have a smart phone or had problems with the online form. They have removed this link from the website or have changed the link incorrectly. I have managed to fined this form on the internet.

Personally, if I had any issues with the online form, then I would print this off and fill in the information required to pass onto customs on arrival: https://saglik.gov.ct.tr/Portals/9/COVI ... 1%29_1.pdf

If they do not accept, then I would tell them to complete the online form for me.

That link should help those that do not have the technology or have difficulty understanding it.

If all else fails then I agree; fill in the form, print it off and hand it to immigration control on arrival.

Thanks for that Soner. I am due to arrive on Sunday, tried to complete Guvende Kal yesterday without success and I am not a complete technophobe having completed the Cyprus Flight Pass, downloaded my vaccination certificate and had my documents verified by BA. I did complete the required information to enter the TRNC, even got as far as entering the vaccination certificate but now all I get is 'the circle of death'. I've rebooted my phone, uninstalled the app and reinstalled 3 times and still the same, I am in despair now!

Click on the TRNC Entry Form section on the Stay Safe website .

Fill in the required information completely in the Personal Information and Travel Information steps, respectively.

In the health information step, if you are a vaccinated person, write your HES/ADAPASS code in the relevant field or proceed by scanning the QR code on your vaccination certificate. If you are not vaccinated, proceed by scanning the QR code of your PCR performed within the last 72 hours or your negative ANTIGEN test result valid for the last 24 hours.

Check your information on the confirmation screen and confirm the transaction.

On the last screen, your QR code will be created and your request to enter the country will be received. You can download your generated QR code to your device as a PDF.

You must have the completed form with you digitally or as a printout.

I have done a dummy run on the Guvenlik Kal website. You simply need to upload a copy of your AdaPass or equivalent (NHS Pass etc) which has a QR code. Then on last section you can Download and print the completed form.

Note: The file your upload must have a QR code, the programme will detect if code is there, if not, it will reject the file you uploaded.

I have the same problems doing this too, and I have had 40 years working with IT. But these two 'documents' are contradictory. On my laptop yes it asks for a scan of the QR code, but it does not react to it on the webcam. So the alternative is to upload the NHS covid form which has - like many others - three QR codes on it relating the three jabs. But it then tells me the form does not have QR codes on it.

It then puts a red band on my phone screen marked ' vaccine not verified'. But on a positive it tells me to have my vaccination document with me during the journey and when entering the country to show the authorized persons. So much for the app then ? Or will they then make the app work once they have a copy of my NHS form? I will be taking multiple printed copies anyway.
m
