Ate at Doğuş Adres on Sunday, not as good as when it was The Address but times change. You do get a substantial amount of mezze so don't necessarily need a starter. I opted for Adana and menu said it was very spicy (it wasn't) stil nice though regardless. Watch out for the very thin potato chips they are very tasty, they look more like crisps though. 1 handful is not enough.

forestpixie, lucky you re the spices. Its usually the opposite for me. I am reassured something isn't very spicy, but when I get it, it burns the roof off my mouth. The very thin potato chips make 1 Kg of potatoes go a lot further than the wonderful Cyprus chips still served in some establishments.

As well as the thin chips, real chips also come with the meal.

The wonderful fresh Cyprus chips fast disappearing from restaurants, what a shame. If only those that sell frozen understood that we can tell the difference.

True Soner
Cyprus potatoes are the best and all frozen chips are poor quality potatoes
It's not only chips, many places serving up frozen veg, we can always tell the difference

So where is best chips to be found? Personally, I like Esentepe Restaurant’s. I also like the fact you get them with the mezes so get. To eat them whilst they are hot and you still hungry.

Really lovely thick chips (crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside) at Lockmans F and C shop and Illelis Restaurant. Both in Alsancak. I refuse to the eat the French Fry sort - horrible. There is some where else in Alsancak but can't remember where. Might be Blue Song?

Alsancak is probably a bit too far west for me in my next visit as I’m only here for a short while, but will definitely give Mardo’s a try :+1:)

Interesting, I never go to Mardo's, I thought it was just an ice cream parlour and I don't have a sweet tooth, do they do other food to go with the chips?

Mardos in Catalkoy has a full menu from English breakfasts to burgers, toasties and more plus puddings and yes ice cream.
