Police Clearance Certificate FROM the TRNC

Hi. We need a Police Clearance Certificate from the Polis here for a period during which we were full-time resident.

I know that the authorities here sometimes require clearance from, eg, the U.K. (for PTP) but have never encountered anyone doing it the other way.

Is there a process for this to be obtained, does anyone know, or is it a visit to the polis we need?

In girne you go just inside the police station on left , ask for a form, fill it in, copy of passport 2 photos and stamps which I always get from the cafe oppositeWednesday market. Collect a couple of days later from the room on the left just inside the double doors behind the office where you fill in the form.

I wonder just why they need a Clearance Cert? If you come and go during the course of a year, I can't see the point. If you assure them you are never ever going to set foot on the island, then just maybe there is some justification, but otherwise it seems to be yet another few sheets of paper to clog up the system.

It’s not for the TRNC bb.

It’s for our home country to show that we have no criminal record during our full-time residence here.

Forms completed (use a blue pen if you bring one with you - not black!), stamps got (TL50.50 from the cafe by the polis station), collect on Friday between 12noon and 2pm.

The systems in the U.K. and Ireland are primitive compared to this

Went yesterday to collect our certificates.

“Yours aren’t done yet. Come back Monday!”
