Smoker's tooth powder and toothpaste on a polishing bonnet are often used to remove surface scratches.

Hi Groucho, unfortunately the scratch is deeper than surface and nearly 1mm deep.
There are people who can do a repair similar to Autoglass windows but i just dont know anyone here who can hence looking.

Thanks for your advice though.

Groucho, will the toothpaste and brush remove the hazyness from the headlights?

Any slightly abrasive polishing substance will remove the cloudiness/yellowing - although the main active ingredient is Elbow Grease ;)

Once you've got them clear, you'll need to apply a sealant/protectorant - available at Yapı markets and car accessory shops.

I agree, jewellers rouge is used by double glazing companies if they get scratches on the glass when fitting new windows.

Using polishing bonnet attached to an electric drill the elbow grease is minimal.

Incidentally I used the tooth powder and an old toothbrush to scrub clean the centre pole of my neighbour's water cooler which was covered in green gunk after two years with stagnant water in and it came up like new.
