Paypoint Cyprus
Anyone having problems with the above. Have been trying to pay Turkcell and Kib-Tek with usual UK bank card and each time message occurs " Error, procedure cancelled" or words to that effect. Actually tried two cards but had same message.

Are you currently in TRNC?
A friend tried to pay a Turkcell bill from UK and it didn't work...

Yes, just back from UK. I have been using both cards in UK but this was first time back in TRNC. Have they both picked up some sort of UK lurgy do you think?

I'd thought it was maybe issues with power cut or internet to bank processing, as we had problems with both earlier this morning.
Have you tried again today BB? I can't help to check it out as paid my bills earlier this month.

I went in to Credit West and paid all bills. I'm a bit worried that TRNC systems, now believe my cards are not valid here, as I did rather over use them back in UK. Well you do, don't you, particularly as I only shopped in one store that would accept cash, EVERYTHING else was paid for by "Touch screen" method.

That could be your problem, using contactless. Rules changed about how many times you can use it in a certain period. Also Could be, as you say, either U.K. is blocking due to the amount of use then returning back to TRNC, if it does not recognise the amount of times you have used the card in TRNC. All to do with fraud and money laundering. You need to speak to your provider.benjaminbutton wrote: ↑Tue 19 Jul 2022 5:53 pmI went in to Credit West and paid all bills. Dalartokat, I was absolutely gobsmacked regarding contactless use. One cup of coffee in a street in Cambridge!!! What astounds me, it must cost the vendor, although I suppose its built into the published price in the first place?

Contactless became more used during pandemic, it was encouraged to speed things up. I must say, I always said I wouldn’t use it, but use it most of the time now as they upped the limit and it is easier, providing you don’t run away with thinking you have more money than you do. Hope you get your cards sorted out.

I've come across one Supermarket where I refuse to participate now. So stupid, as they've lost a customer for less than a fiver. i.e. she took card from me and did the "contact" herself. I reached out to get it back but too late. Being a typical Brit didn't make a fuss in front of a load of customers.
