Dumping Skype and replace by a VOIP on laptop, phone and tablet an table

I have been having what appears to be an unsolveable problem and been discussing with Forum on members on another thread. After hours and hours of trying to secure my SKYPE account which I haven't used for well over a a year or more, to no avail, the subject of replacing it with a VOIP on laptop has bee mentioned. Has anyone done this and who did they use. I have WhatsApp on mobile and I understand this can be transferred to all the other devises as well. Have yet to figure out how this is done. I have a whole load of a what are going to be very lengthy calls back to the UK coming up soon and I need to find an alternative to SKYPE which I've used for donkeys years. Any help would be appreciated.

Zoom is really good, conference calls also you can share your screen.

I've made a comment on your other thread about a Voip service I used to use called 12Voip. I can't say now how good or bad it is, been years since I used it. https://www.12voip.com/dashboard. This is a PAYG Voip service, have noticed some of them are more for businesses with a monthly charge, which is no use for your circumstances, by the sound of things.

AM, I've looked at dozens this morning and yes, I haven't found one that applies to personal use. Oh how things have changed since my early SKYPE days, no Microsoft to interfere

If you have an Amazon account you can download the Alexa.app and ask her to call your contacts. I have used this in Cyprus and was very useful last year when I needed to call the UK a lot due to a family illness. You can also do this on a tablet.

I use WhatsApp on my iMac. I downloaded it from the App Store. It works exactly the same way as on your phone so of course you will need a microphone and speakers on your computer. I assume you can do the same for a PC.
