I've just found out that my phone is dual sim
I'm UK based UK phone on Vodafone.
If I put a Telesim or Turksel sim in my phone as a second sim would it be blocked after the initial grace period?
Is there a way round not paying the Tax on the phone when its only used 8 to 10 weeks a year over the whole year say March June Sept /Oct

When you activate any imported phone here with a TRNC mobile service provider SIM you will have 90 days grace to register the phone. Otherwise after 90 days the phone will be blocked for use with TRNC network service providers.

The 90 days is treated as a single continuous period. It does not start and stop with your comings and goings.

I have read though cannot actually confirm the 90 days grace period is renewed each year. Whether this be January 1st or twelve month anniversary of date the phone was last (or first) used, l don’t know.

A phone using solely a UK network provider on roaming is not, as yet, subject to any time restriction here in the TRNC.

I do not know if a blocked dual SIM phone can continue to use the second SIM whilst here.

I also thought of doing the same as you wanderer when my contract with Vodafone ended last October as my Samsung Galaxy A90 is also dual SIM. Only problem is that as the second SIM goes in the Micro SD card holder, I can have either 1 SIM and 1 Micro SD card or 2 SIM's and no Micro SD card. As the Micro SC card is a must I opted to do Vodafone's SIM only Unlimited Max + 4 Benefits which was £30 a month. Bit dearer but given the amount of to-ing and fro-ing over the year it was one less thing to have to worry about. The other benefit is that as the network shows in TRNC as either Vodafone or Vodafone UK?? i can stream my Virgin Media while there plus most other UK TV platforms.
