Is anyone coming over from UK with space in their luggage?
HELP!
Are you due to come out to Cyprus in the next couple of weeks or so, or do you know someone who is?
And, do you have room in your case?
I need some cushions for my dining suite and the only suitable ones I can find are available online for delivery to UK only. I was wondering if someone might be able to help, if I could send them to them. I'd be very grateful.
Thanks in anticipation!

Hi pippie, if you don't have any luck with your post, you could try taking the website picture of what you require to 1 of the shops e.g Mermaid Fabrics, The Curtain Shop, Fiskos etc and ask them if they could make you copies. We have done this a couple of times.

Thanks for the suggestion Stevie but I've already enquired about having some made and it's just too costly. These cushions I want to buy are ready made and just the right size and shape. And the price is a fraction of getting them done here!
I hope someone will be able to help.

Hi,
They are roughly 14" square and 3" cushion - 6 of them.

Yes it would be unusual to find someone with that much space coming back from UK! Going from here would be no problem.

Can you not buy the covers and fill them yourself it would make it easier for someone to take them to you.

Re: Is anyone coming over from UK with space in their luggag
You never know, there might be someone who lives here permanently and has just taken a trip back to the UK to visit family and have not planned to bring anything back. The good thing is the cushions wouldn't weigh much, it's only the space that's the issue.
I have thought about trying to do them myself and although I don't mind getting out a needle and cotton I know they would not be as good as machine sewn, plus I've got curtains I'm sewing at the moment which will take me a while yet - we'll be having a sore bum til next Christmas if it's left to me!! And, it's the filling apparently that costs so much out here.

Hi, I understand your dilema but having been through somewhat similar situations I ditched the inside cushions and just brought over the cushion cover. Its so easy to buy cushion inserts here in North Cyprus.
However best of luck in your search for so much space.

Pippie
If you are not desparate for your cushions, we are hopefully and I say hopefully will be shipping our worldly belongings around July as it is hopefully(again) that our villa will be finnished.
So we could fit your cushions in with our stuff.

Re: Is anyone coming over from UK with space in their luggag
Hi LL, thank you very much for your kind offer. Unfortunately my mum will be arriving in April and I need the cushions for her to be able to sit at then. She has spondulitis and needs a good strong seat pad that will support her. My cushions never arrived with my belongings when they were shipped out here(!) so I haven't got any at all and thought it better I get a full set of 6 at once so they will all match.
Someone has kindly given me some foam from some of their old seat cushions which I have just finished cutting to size. I've now got enough foam for 3 cushions. If I can find some more foam to do the other 3 seats then I'll have a go at making my own covers too. This appears to be the best option I have.

Pippie, Mermaid fabric has foam for cushions, and I expect most upholsterers and material shops have it too.

I had cushions and covers made by Mermaid. Good firm foam and a reasonable price too.
