1 more thing to worry about
I can’t believe they are throwing another thing to wory about. Everyone has to learn Turkish. This is ridiculous how about the people that have learning difficulties like me. I have dyslexia so have problems with English. Does this mean if you come here to work the rules the same. If not what’s the point as still have print things in English. Just think we all sold up changed our money to lira. Now can’t buy our houses back as the prices have at least doubled. Lost a fortune in currency exchange now they won’t to chuck us out over something none of us could have foreseen. Great

Don't worry about that, apparently there's a lion on the loose!

Another half baked idea. Granted for citizenship tests in a lot of countries, you need to be passable in the language.
So...if that actually will be the case, then I would expect permanent residency without a temporary residence renewal every year. Which is actually almost expired before it’s granted! That would probably lose them money so, we’ll see...

Daisy Allproof mentioned in the CT article today is, supposedly, an expat relations officer in Girne, turned out to be a very believable spoof for 1st April.

Seems like the Mayor of Girne has not appreciated the Governments rise in water prices - calls that an April Fools Joke - lol. Probably the only guy laughing at it mind you.
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

Re: 1 more thing to worry about
If it is an April Fools Day joke, I wonder how many elderly residents like me, living alone, spent a restless night worried sick about it. NOT FUNNY!

Another thing is they think it’s funny but why put things like this in people heads. It’s a way they can make another few bob from the brits coffers. I think if it is i will never buy that paper again. And hope who ever thought it up gets the sack

If, and that is a big IF it turns out to be true it will be very interesting to see if the BRS will do anything about it. I think not, as they are not that pro active for their members. However it would be nice for them to go to the Government and say'' hold on. We are helping you out financially in lots of ways, we already provide you with lots of money, most of the charities come from us, we are driving the UK for your recognition etc etc. Is this ho
w you really want to pay us back?

So, if you are a member of BRS, you should bring it up at the next AGM, if you are not a member, then you have no right to criticise. And if you are a member why not voice your concerns to them instead of on an open forum under an anonymous nickname..... just saying.....Tanky wrote: ↑Sun 02 Apr 2023 3:01 pmIf, and that is a big IF it turns out to be true it will be very interesting to see if the BRS will do anything about it. Mainly because the BRS do not listen to anybody but themselves. Try it. It is now they should be acting not waiting for the AGM.
Try their web site and see how difficult it is to simply send a message. Are they interested. No

I think that you are making a mountain out of a molehill...
From the BRS homepage, click on 'Contact Us', select the desired recipient (If you are unsure who to send it to, simply select 'General Enquiries') - fill in your details contact details and type your message!
If you are not a Member, then just ignore the 'Membership number' box.
Copy the 'CAPTCHA' antispam letters into the box & click 'send'.
This is pretty much the same as the procedure to contact any organisation, anywhere in the World, so where is the difficulty?

Re: 1 more thing to worry about
AS you can see, I received a response from the BRS within a couple of hours - and I didn't tell them that I was a Member either!
