Bringing Car over for 2 to 3 months
Sorry if this has been posted before but if you drive over from the UK with your family car, how do you get round the taxing, insuring and does your UK car test stand.

Apparently you would need a trnc driving licence after 30 days. Unless you kept getting consecutive tourists visas

Can you tax the car for say three months Gates, or does it have to be for the full year?

Re: Bringing Car over for 2 to 3 months
When we drove our car over we had to buy the insurance at the docks, the car had 11 months UK tax and international insurance plus the UK insurance. Unfortunately residency rules have changed therefore you will have to check with immigration to check how long you can stay too.
We had 1 week to visit the Department of customs and excise (Gümrük ve Rüsumat Dairesi) where the paperwork from the docks were confirmed and extended , after this period we had to make the decision on importing or remove the car from the island. In our case it was 2 years, as the car still had valid tax and insurance from the UK being under 3 years old this was a simple task

Unless the rules have changed my UK road tax and mot was checked by customs and they allowed me 6 months they said if I wanted another 6 months I would need to buy road tax here
I'm leaving now to go find myself....if I arrive before I get back, please ask me to wait!
