Is there such a thing as a pay as you go SIM here? Also if you are not in Cyprus for 6 months how do you keep the number live. Have message turkcell and telsim and just get gobbildygook back?
Don't want a package just a number that I can put credit on and use the line in case of emergency??
Thanks

It used to be, if the SIM was not used for six months the number ceased to be used on the network. Someone will correct me if I am wrong, I think that may now be extended to 12 months. The work-around was to have a friend here use the phone occasionally during the six month period, to keep it "alive", so to speak. I think you have to add credit fairly frequently too.
Note: the phone using a local SIM here will need to be registered (if not already registered here) within 90 days of the local SIM being activated in the phone, otherwise at the end of 90 days the phone will be blocked for use with the local SiM until registered. I believe the 90 days grace period recommences every 12 months.

I credit all my customers phones every 6 months and when they come out as I believe you can not make calls after a 30 day period, used to be 90. So far no problems

Have you considered an e sim. I have used one as I travel a lot and they are so easy to use in any country! Try looking up airalo or download the app and it will explain how an e sim works.

Not sure Türkcell support eSIM anyhow. They didn’t last year. No idea about Telsim. Worth an ask for those with dual SIM phones, one of which is eSIM.
We use eSIM for our UK network and physical micro SIM for Türkcell. iPhones purchased here, eSIM set up for UK network remotely. Very easy.
