Well done Girne Belediyesi Water Dept

Today I noticed some water pouring up from beneath the road close to the water meter of an empty house at the end of my road (indicating a burst pipe). I popped by the Girne Belediyesi offices at lunchtime to report the leak - once they located the leak location on their system they assured me they would deal with it.

Within two hours a team plus JCB turned up and the work was completed / road surface repaired by 4pm.

I have enjoyed excellent support from the same offices on previous occasions (burst pipe outside our property 2007 - fixed on a Saturday afternoon within an hour of phoning it in / needed a replacement for a defective water meter 2008 (the repair truck followed me back home from their offices and replaced it immediately at nil cost).

Probably lots of people out there with tales of woe regarding their experiences - but my experience has been very positive... so credit where credit is due and a well done to Girne Belediyesi from a grateful Dogankoy resident.

I have been trying to get a leak repaired for 2 weeks and have reported it 5 or 6 time s, sohas my neibours but still no repair . Now the leak is very bad and I think that the pipe is about yo burst. Who can I get to repair the leak urgently, any contact no. would be appreciated. I have tried 185 and 03926500100.

I spent 2 months trying to get them to sort mine & neighbour's meter problems. Finally got mine sorted. Took neighbour's meter away for repair. He's now been on free water for 4 months. Not complaining!!!!
