Car Tax On-Line

It is the 1st of June today, thought I would get ahead of the game and do my car tax - yes I know I have a month to pay it in - but for some reason it won't let me do it. Tells me there is no record of vehicle registration and to contact the license place. Anyone having the same reply or is it not working yet as I am too early? Last years road tax was from the 1st of June 2022 so it should be ready now?

I've just done mine this morning and got the same message. I removed the P in front of passport number and all sorted now. Sure has taken a big jump from last year.

Went into tax office last year to renew car tax 2 weeks before expiry. Told I have to wait until after expiry.

alphamike, thanks for that, problem solved. Funny thing is that I never put the P in front of the passport number - this last time I DID!!! Now it works on mine with the P in front - don't figure - lol. But you are correct - a big jump of nearly 100% since last year, now dreading the tax on the next, much bigger, vehicle.

Sussed it!

Look at your old road tax - if you have a P in front of the passport number on that one then you need to put a P in front of your passport number when renewing! If no P on the old road tax then don't put a P on the renewal!

Lol Waddo, there is no way I am going to try and figure out how things work here. Really weird that yours needs a P and mine doesn't....for this year. Maybe it will be swap about time next year!

Good luck with the big vehicle, you'll need to take a stiff drink or two before facing that.

Last year for a Fiesta 1.25 petrol 481.75 TL This year 866.95 tl

You are lucky, Toyota Vitz 1.3 petrol, last year 810 TL, this year 1458.25 TL.
How is the road tax worked out, as would have thought Fiesta and Vitz are about the same size?

The Fiesta 1.25 is a 2003 bought into TRNC in 2010 its done 44k miles from new
