Hello all. Hope this is OK to post.
A dog called Miss Monkey has been living in the area of Vetpoint in Catalkoy. She is a very friendly dog who loves people. Altay the Vet spayed her and gave her all the necessary medication. He along with his colleagues were quite happy to have Miss Monkey there.
Unfortunately shopkeepers near did not want her there and reported her to the Beledeyisi as causing damage to some of their stock.
I was at Vetpoint on Thursday 22nd June 2023 at about 12.30 Noon and was witness with others to Miss Monkey being rounded up aggressively and quite cruelly by these shopkeepers and 2 men from the Catalkoy-Esentepe Beledeyisi. They tied a long piece of rope tightly around her neck and were tugging her. She was absolutely petrified.
I ran out shouting at them to drop the rope and also to Altay to come and help her which he did and brought her into the surgery where she was petted and calmed down by 2 ladies. A truck was brought onto the carpark with a dog cage in the back of it. Altay gently carried Miss Monkey out and put her into the cage. The men then drove off with her supposedly taking her to the shelter at Esentepe. She never arrived. Lies were told ! She was there! No! She then tried to bite the men and escaped! No! She had been dumped!
Her story was all over FB.So many of us were sharing it and just pure luck someone had taken a picture of a very friendly dog who had appeared in the restaurant where they were eating the night before.
It was Miss Monkey. This was at the Ocean Blue Restaurant in Esentepe.
There is a video of her when we found her and maybe someone can help me get this onto this post. Soner very kindly helped me when I posted about Miss No Name sometime ago.
Miss Monkey after being out there for 10 days is now safe but she is in desperate need of a forever home. She cannot be put out onto the streets again as she will be picked up again, dumped or worse.
I know it is bad out there with all the animals being dumped and the unspayed dogs having puppies and this is a long shot. Miss Monkey is 6 /7 months old and is a very intellegent and loving dog.She responds to commands and directions very quickly and is housetrained. Not a ''bundle of fluff' more a shorthaired. long legged 'pointer' type. Her colour is white with brown splodges.

Is there anyone who can help Miss Monkey?
Sorry it is such a long post. I live in hope for Miss Monkey with everything crossed.
BBB's other half. . (0-0) Thank you all. Take care.

Hi
On Face Book there is Freedom Dog & Cat Sanctuary. It's based in Alsancak / Lapta.
They are extremely good taking stray Dogs & Cats.
I'm sure if you contact them, they'll do their best to hel0 you 🙂

Thank you.I will contact them .Miss Monkey is in Catalkoy so maybe they do not cover this area.
There are so many animals out there needing help and safe homes.
I have been lucky to have managed over the years of being here to rehome some animals including a horse but so many of us are now ''dogged' out. Thank you again
