Clock mechanism
Where can the clock mechanism on modern cheepo clocks be bought? These are the black plastic box stuck on the back which contain the battery.

Re: Clock mechanism
There was a thread on this a while ago, only remember as I answered
. My suggestion was to try the gift shop by the Liman Hotel as he sold the clocks. Mine had given up the ghost & they supplied a new mechanism. Sorry, can’t remember what the other options were.

Yes. The shop is along towards The Dome from the steps. Sells lots of ceramic bits.

Why not buy a cheap clock and remove the mechanism.

Re: Clock mechanism
If you buy a clock just to use the mechanism, make sure that the hands are suitable because your original ones may not fit...

Re: Clock mechanism
Good point but does that mean I have to take the faulty one in with me if buying a new one? I just assumed they were all the same.

No, just have an idea of the size, style and colour of the hands that will match your clock in case your original hands don't fit the new mechanism.
If you're lucky, perhaps the old hands WILL fit the new mechanism, so there's no problem anyway, but best be prepared!
