Walking the beach today

This morning two of us took a walk along our favourite beach to do our usual litter pick. After 20 minutes a flock of about 100 birds flew over head, no idea what they were, they were singing to each other, all in formation, heading who knows where?
We stopped and watched, it was an amazing sight to see, in fact I had a tear in my which my partner noticed, I said it was a bit of sand in my eye.

Its not every day in this troubled world you get to see something which cheers you up for the day.

could it have been the bee catching birds. they come over once a year, and their plummage is so beautiful colourwise, they are also very chatty. we havent seen them yet this year but they come in flocks for a few days, and definitely worth seeing

Storks and Egrets this time of year thought to late October migrating, we are fortunate to see them almost every day, flocks from 30 + and as little as 10.
