Quick question.

If you only have 1 year left on your passport can you get 2 years residency.

Or do you get a new passport a year early.

The only place to get the answer is Immigration in Lefcosia.
As your passport no is on your residency I guess you will have to either apply for one year or get a new passport,good luck.

If you aply with that passport they will end the visa 2 months before the date on your passport and when you get your new passport they will extend the visa to the 2 year term. I know this as I had the same. If you don’t get your passport back before then visa runs out then you will be fined until your passport turns up and the visa extended. Hope this is understandable as it really is if not done right exspensive

Apply for new passport if you don’t mind losing a year.
Ours was running out applied for 2 residency and paid got up to date of expiry. New passport came quick trot to immigration updated information, got new paperwork with passport details and remainder of 2 years.

Thanks for all the replies. We have applied for a new passport, seems less hassle to just lose a year.
