Rheumatoid arthritis
I have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, particularly affecting my knees.
I have seen general doctors, but I am seeking a specialist for advice regarding medication, treatment etc, can anyone recommend someone that they know of who could help.

Re: Rheumatoid arthritis
Hello Davidthomas. So sorry to hear that. My sister was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis here about eight years ago. She saw a rheumatologist in Lefkosa. Her name is Dr. Yonca Morris . Phone number is +90 392 223 61 21. At the time I think she was the only rheumatologist on the north side. I hear there is a rheumatologist at Near East hospital now and there may be more in other hospitals. My sister's gp at the time was Dr.Silem(Shilem) and she was so helpful. I think she may still be practicing in Iskele or Tatlisu. Not sure though. I wish you all the best

Hi kedikat2903,
Thank you for you reply it is much appreciated.
I am still reeling from the shock, I woke up one morning unable to walk and then spent 10 days in hospital.
I will discuss my options with my Turkish speaking friend who will have to come with me.
Thank you again for the information and I will let you know how I get on

Re: Rheumatoid arthritis
Dear David
Do not be too disheartened.
I was diagnosed with R A 2 years ago and was shocked by my reduced mobility. Since then, however, with great treatment from the NHS I have almost returned to my pre R A condition. I believe the most helpful medication was Methotrexate but you do need to be careful because it weakens your immune system.
The best advice that I can pass on from personal experience is not to become too sedentary however painful movement might be. The amount of muscle tone I lost in just a few weeks was huge.
Good luck.

try glycine... 10-15 gr / day. it's a cheap, sweet amino acid, almost everyone is deficient. It's the main component of bones, cartillage and skin. Indeed, 11% of our body is glycine. It's extremely safe -up to 90 gr / day for several weeks has been tested with no issues.
For added bonus, you can combine nac (n acetly cisteine) + glycine + taurine. glycine and nac taken together is called "glynac" (taurine is my recommendation.)
Glynac reverses aging up to a certain degree, just google "glynac hallmarks of aging" you'll be pleasantly surprised.
