Proof of funds over 60's residency

Does anyone have a definitive answer as to what's required for high income renewal?

P60 for showing pension

Certified statements from local bank showing funds on deposit

With the above are 6 months of UK statements still required?

TIA

If you have sufficient funds here to cover 1 x min wage, you will be fine with local bank account(s) only.
If not and you are including your pension (P60), take 6 months of UK bank statements. I usually highlight pension payments on the statements.

I come under home ownership rather than high income (but for some strange reason I was high income 2 years ago but managed to change it).
As I had enough to cover what they were asking in local bank accounts, they were not interested in my P60 or UK bank statements, however took them anyway to cover myself just in case.

I applied for high income on July 14th this year in Girne. I took my P60, sixth months of pension monthly statements and a certified statement from local bank. This was accepted. 4 days later, 19th July, I printed my new residents permit. Well impressed!!

I thought high income renters need only provide documentation saying that they had sufficient funds for 1 times the monthly local wage, not 3 times. Surely this was changed a few months ago or has the heat got to me?

That's correct for "over 60s" .

torontomapleleaf, be prepared!
For my renewal of residency recently I provided the same proof of income that I had provided for previous renewals which is more than the amount required in local bank accounts and I am a home owner.
I was therefore surprised when the immigration police asked if I was retired which I am. They then insisted that I provide proof of my pensions by way of a UK Bank statement or they would deny my application. My explanation that I had enough funds to qualify from their own list and that my UK pension is irrelevant tell on deaf ears and it entailed another visit, queuing etc.
My advice is to expect the unexpected, take car more than you think you will need as it appears to be up to the individual Officer on the day.

Good advice Medjoul1. I really do think that it is down to the individual officer on the day. My P60 and UK bank statements weren't required a few weeks ago, but I had them anyway. If I hadn't had them, you can bet your bottom dollar they would have been requested.

So on your second visit did you take six months worth of UK bank statements? I would have thought a P60 would be enough but as you say and I know having been putting up with this farce for 25 years it depends on whether or not the officer has had his three morning coffees!

Can't remember when someone in UK last presented me with a P60. Used to have them regularly, but not now.

TML, yes I took six months UK bank statements showing work and state pensions and they accepted them without question.
I now have my residency renewed.

BB I never even thought to bring my P60 back with me this year when I was in UK, as in previous years it was rejected. I wasn't asking my Mum to dig through all my stuff to find it, so I went on to HMRC and was able to take a printout of my private pension income from there. At the end of the day it wasn't needed, but at least I had it.

alphamike, I asked my UK postal address if they could send an image of my most recent P60 and they said no P60 had ever been delivered.

Medjoul, advise you to get in touch with your pension provider or HMRC to get them to send out to your UK address or perhaps email.

Do the authorities retain your proof of income e.g bank statement/P60 or are they handed back?

Thanks Medjoul1. Don’t have an issue with them retaining documents but with all my/our personal information on them how secure is their system. Thats an opinion by the way not a question.

Dropshort, totally agree that's why I questioned the necessity of them having my UK bank statements.

I have no TL accounts and no intention having any, but I did as requested and showed UK statements, having first blanked out Account No. Iban No, Sort Code No etc. I also blanked out pension details on left hand side but left just the name of company and DWP name showing. I wasn't asked for 6 months, but took them just in case. They retained photocopies and returned originals. This was last October.

Thanks benjaminbuton. I was considering doing exactly that but unsure if they would accept “doctored “ documents. Apparently, from your experience they do.

Well it worked for me and as you know rules and/regs change every day/week and it was last October. What I didn't block out was the bottom right hand corner i.e. REGULAR monthly total etc. (I should have mentioned that sorry) I could see him through the window, He gave a nod and that was that. I got original doctored ones back and they kept copies of last three of them.
