Dear people of Çatalköy Esentepe,
I would like to share with you that we will be organizing a widely attended meeting on 14 August Wednesday (today) at 19.00 at MC Palace. In this meeting, we will discuss the effects of toxic smoke spread by the Teknecik Electric Power Plant operating in our region on the environment and health. As a continuation of the call we made earlier, we will have an important exchange of information by gathering with knowledgeable persons, the environment and you, our dear public.
Your participation is of great importance to us. I believe that we will reach the best decisions by talking and discussing this critical issue together.
Yours sincerely,
Ceyhun Kirok
Mayor of Çatalköy Esentepe

Its very simple buy and use ONLY clean fuel oil, and ensure the filters are clean. That will reduce the black smoke and improve the environment.

The union has requested that the current fuel and any new shipments be tested by an independent lab, and they want a representative from EL-SEN involved in this process. When the local news outlet Yeniduzen asked for the test results of the fuel from the company TPIC, both KIB-TEK management and the Ministry of Energy’s Fuel Unit refused to share them.

WHY , What are they hiding? this information and price paid should be public knowledge, after all we pay for it !!

For the information of the public opinion;
First and foremost, we regretfully condemn this statement full of lies and slander while welcoming the press statement made by the Cyprus-Turkish Electricity Authority Employees Union (EL-SEN).
Our public and corporate employees should know that;
Today morning (Sunday) at 10.00 in the meeting with EL-SEN management at Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority, the reasons for action were discussed one by one and calender was made at the solution point.
At the point of work safety, teams were established to check the work safety equipment and in case of missing materials, scheduling has been made for completion as soon as possible.
However, after all the articles have been discussed, EL-SEN President Ahmet Tu tircu made a request regarding the staffing of probationary staff and asked for an immediate decision and then left the conciliation table. Both our management and the union management are in awe of Tu sındacu's attitude.
It is not an acceptable attitude that the Union President leaves the table and insists on the action to be held on Monday 05.08.2024.
On the other hand it should be remembered that; EL-SEN initiated legal process regarding the suspension of these temporary staff during the recruitment process. However, KIB-TEK took care of these personnel and ensured them to continue their work. Our institution will also provide for the staffing of the concerned staff.
It is an attitude taken not only to us but also to our people that the President of the Union is insisting on dragging EL-SEN into action in staffing staff who are on probation process and have not completed the necessary procedures.
We are all deeply saddened by the end of the meeting, which started within a compromise and resolution, ended in this way.
Even though EL-SEN has left the table, we as Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority have begun our efforts to implement all agreed articles in accordance with the benefits of our people and employees.
As the Cyprus Turkish Electricity Corporation we have continued our work by showing a constructive attitude so far and we would like to inform the general public that we will be in the same attitude in the future. Together with the action that EL-SEN will take, our efforts with our sensitive personnel and service recruitment will continue to ensure that our people do not suffer.
It is our call to EL-SEN; By lifting the action, we invite you to common sense to implement the decisions we agree on during the discussion and to work together in harmony in the subsequent process. This action that is about to be done will only harm neither the Cyprus Turkish Electricity Corporation nor our people. We invite everyone to stay calm in this frame, we as Cyprus Turkish Electricity Corporation want to remind you once again that our doors are always open to everyone at the point of agreement.
Respectfully announced to the entire Public
Choose your spouse, friend, relative, in difficult days. On a good day, no one shows their purity.
